The soundtrack is Phil Collins' "in the air tonight". One of the phrases has a drum riff at the end of it. The kid hitting the garbage cans makes exactly the sound and rhythm of that riff. Does that make sense? Not sure if my description helps...
he pretty clearly ditched on purpose. perhaps no functional brakes and he decided to take his chances with a collision with the trash bin rather than careen into the intersection
When I was a kid someone gave us a really old bike (like 30s or 40s vintage). It was very heavy & hard to steer, but a bike's a bike. When I would try to turn into our apt complex driveway, it wouldn't turn all the way & the brakes didn't work, so I would just crash into a spidery plant every time.
you go from coasting down a slight decline with feet sometimes touching ground to pedaling. Then realize you don't know how to stop. I drove across someone's lawn and into a thick hedge.
This happened to me when I was 5, learning to ride bike, I panicked and forgot how to brake. But I was bleeding down my leg, my neighbors just sat around and did nothing as I had to walked home with a massive gash on my knee, back up the hill crying. No helmet during that time.
Looks like an example of 'lost confidence'. My brother used to get that when as kids we ride our bikes down a steep hill and JUMPED over a berm at the bottom. Took him many tries to finally get the courage to jump rather then spill off the bike early. Me...jumped every time. He was more successful.
