I have a 2019 MacBook Pro and I’m afraid that it’ll give out during the Make America Great Depression Again (MAGDA) and maybe I should buy a new one now?
It seems like the planned obsolescence for Macs is maybe 8 years (officially it’s 7 years). Although I’ve been able to keep some alive longer.

A gently used m1 series machine will also last a long time. I’m on nearly 5 years with a 2020 m1 air. And 23 years with my iBooks.
Ugh.

I have the Intel and it can stall
Unless you’re someone who needs the absolute latest in high end computing, any Mac in the last 3 years is probably more than good enough to do the job for the next few years (with basic care and maintenance).
I’m still using kit from 2012-2015.. 😃
Not sure what you mean.
I have an M2 2022 MacBook Air 15" & it's the best Apple product I've ever purchased.
I put the whole 24gb max ram in, & running photoshop 1tb files with Lightroom & Spotify etc all going, no heat, no noise.
As I said, best Apple product I ever bought.
Thanks for the advice!
I’ll shut up now. lol.
That is a lot of tariffs
oh
They are "designed" in the US
considering the wage in Indonesia they really are over priced
They last if they have the full specs I swear!
I like my M1 though, some streamers won't work in Safari on the 2013, and Apple will support Arm long past Intel - perhaps it's time to buy an open box M3?
Unacceptable from my point of view. I’m considering a framework computer instead. Completely repairable by the user 💪
