I watched a video about crows and how they can recognise people and make friends with other animals and I've decided I'm wasting my life every single day that I'm not friends with a crow

I watched a video of crows who worked out how to crack nuts with the help of dropping them into the road so cars crush them, but they worked out if they dropped them on pedestrian crossings, they could safely pick them up when cars stopped for ppl to cross. They’re genius’s
They are way smarter than a certain so-called genius. They do learn to improve themselves. The same can be said about coyotes. Have you heard that in urban settings they have been seen looking at traffic lights to decide when it's safe to cross a street?
Bring presents to humans they like. Harass humans they don't like. If they don't like you, every crow in a 100 miles radius for 100 generations will know about it. I know of one case where a guy trained crows to bring him quarters and another where crows helped a woman find her missing cat!
We did have a murder in a couple of big oak trees opposite my flat but one of them got hit by lightning in the middle of the night and they relocated, have one or two come and eat when I throw peanuts down to the floor but never up on the feeder on my balcony, that’s my kids domain
Crashed into downstairs neighbours balcony all snagged up in string, only a baby, stayed on my B over night had some mealworms n water, suet paste by hand and sat with me for about an hour and a half on my hand until she got the courage to fly back to the clattering 🖤
My uncle spilled a jar of ballbearings in his garage. The garage door was open a a crow saw my uncle pick up ballbearings off the floor, the crow literally helped pick them up, and put them in the jar. For months after, my uncle would find ballbearings piled up outside his garage door.
I feed the crows at my workplace whenever I see them. Peanuts in the shell. They bring me mostly bottle caps and candy wrappers but last year one of them brought me a diamond. Turned out to be legit
I've been feeding a couple crows cat food and trail mix on my roof for a few months now. Now every morning one of them will poke his head in my window and caw at me until I bring him something delicious 😁 pretty soon I'll have an army
Not just crows, magpies (European), are very friendly. There are three that regularly visit my garden because we gave them left over chicken 2 years ago. Corvids are fuckjng delightfully social.
They communicate better than parrots and they bring stuff to humans they like! But be careful cos they also hold grudges and will target people they don't like
There's a matey in my local park who's befriended the crows. He stands on the path behind the cafe and whistles, then about half a dozen of them gather in the trees and when the coast is clear they fly down to hang out with him. It's pretty cool.
I was so excited to do this when I moved from a non-crow place to where I am now. I have seen fewer than 100 crows in 3 years; I assume I’ve never seen the same one twice.
How can I befriend them for the trinket exchange? 😢
i have been making friends with my neighborhood crows for years. i told my wife they'll have our back when the apocalypse comes. which may be sooner than we imagine...
Carry peanuts in your pockets. The ones who are still in their shells. Crows know to open them, pigeons don't recognize them as food. Keep a schedule, and soon you'll have friends!
I once had a pretty serious injury in school and couldn't do PE for a long time, so I ended up making friends with a crow that lived on the sports fields every time I had to sit and watch everyone else do sports.
As my name might suggest, I’m quite a fan of them myself. This guy always seems me coming from 100 meters off and comes to sit next to me on a bench 🐦⬛
My mum nursed one with a hurt wing once and it became very loving and friendly. I've read that if you reward them for bringing you money they will straight up rob people for you and that gives me lots of ideas for the world's cutest crime syndicate
We had one as a “pet” 🐦⬛ when I was a kid, it got wounded and we raised him, they’re as smart if not more so than parrots 🦜 and alike, ps. we also had those 😅 we had a lot of animals 🥰
i saw a similar video a year ago and was immediately like “i am gonna feed crowd andmake crow friends” but never actually went through the effort of making any crow friends.
Ohhh you should. In my last project I fed the crows ravens and jackdaws on my walk. A few months later they would caw excitedly when they saw me, wait for me in the trees, to come out of the shop where I bought them stuff and they would escort me the whole way. There were about 30 flying quite close
My spouse rescued a baby crow fondling in our back yard.
Ever since bird follows our daily walks from home and back.
Rita our Bill Terrier Miniture Dog has been trying to play with it every time.
Been years crow attacks any targeting us.
Follows path daily.
Vehicle stalking us and crow attacked car.
They can as long as the other crows are in the same place as you.
Interestingly, the ability of animals to communicate about something that isn’t present is called displacement, and it’s quite rare. Ravens are one that can do it.
Mostly I need to know how to tell all the local crows I am friend and please bring me presents and take me in as one of your own thank you. Or at least how to teach them all to chant "run" ominously 🤣
They are quite skittish round here cus we're on the outskirts so they're a bit more wild. Soon as I open the door to give them some nuts they're like NAH SEE YA lol though they do enjoy dipping food in the dog bowl we leave out for passing dog walkers 🤣 gonna print my face in the bottom of the dish🤣

However… they’ve now got me pretty well trained so that they sit in the tree and caw at me until I feed them. 🙄

I believe it's plausible.
Social Bird Security.
I trust the crows.
I don’t want them to remember my face and harass me and my descendants forever…

Recent observations have led me to rate them as much smarter than humans.
