Lots of people respond to this kind of point by saying "what if this alienates our allies" and the answer is that if asking our allies to take solidarity action with us and apply their own intellectual and political power alienates them they aren't our allies.

I work in the NHS and I'm wondering if trusts etc. should be allowed to partake. I've spent a lot of time this weekend trying to figure out exactly what to do if I'm expected to enact a policy that will actively harm trans people.

I think we’ve had to raise the bar for what allyship means. It’s no longer enough to accept the begrudgingly tolerant who see allyship as a favor or avenue for their own advancement. We need to set boundaries and ask people to take action—because if not now, when?

I personally would of left any organization that doesn't fully support the LBGTQIA plus entirely. It is either support all of them or none at all. People can't pick and choose which part of the community to support.

I don't think there is anything wrong with denying bad faith actors the opportunity to use a demographic for transwashing, gaywashing, greenwashing, racewashing, whatever.

Be quite explicit in the denial. "You want to come to promote a false image, opposite of reality."

I totally agree with this. You can't hide behind your organisation and its stance. Stand up and be counted for what you believe in, otherwise you are a fair weather ally who doesn't have the strength of your own convictions.
