I really, strongly, support this. It really is true that they need to hear more from us. We need to be RELENTLESS

I also head that a lot of MPs were taken back by the strength of pro-trans support in the wake of the SC ruling, because all they ever heard from was GCs.
I mean, that's just not true, that's who they listened too. Still, it is working. Keep writing. Keep phoning

If we could get the difference trans and LGBTQ groups together to coordinate the response would be amazing.. if only.
You need to become your MP’s latest and most annoying penpal.
Once you admit that a service doesn’t have to be “pure” single sex to function as such for the purposes of Schedule 3, para 27, then the game is up. There is no rationale / PMOALA for a blanket ban on trans people. We are back…
It's possible a lot of public perception has been skewed by how we tend to be most visible when we've not been out long.
That's a time when we're liable to be going through a lot and understandably aren't at our best.
I suspect a combination of confidence and having found what "look" both works for you and you feel comfortable in
When you feel anxiety about how you're being perceived it generally affects how you act in a way draws moer attention.
When you lose that and are able to act like you belong you're generally less noticeable.
Later on in transition, folks just try to blend in and stop talking about it.
And it’s not that they are 100% passable either (few trans people are), it’s that they are passable “enough” that the cis world basically stops caring.
And I'm now being more loudly trans & looking towards activism.
B/c we need to fight to survive. We need to be seen. Blending in won't save us.
It takes maybe five years for both to become reasonable human beings, after which they can be well worth knowing.
What is the transgender community in the UK doing to influence public opinion?
20 years ago it was Press for Change. Who is it now ?
It was heart warming how the London march I attended triggered the attack response from the BBC.
A very kind friend has taken me on holiday to the Outer Hebrides, to help me relax an get away from the drama for a bit, but it's still very difficult not to feel the need to stay up to date with the real world...
