I used to work with nurses who were anti-vax. When I found out the director of nursing at the long-term care facility where I was employed as infection control nurse wasn't vaccinated, I quit. People like that can't be trusted. They don't care about themselves, their coworkers, or their patients.

i have seen my share of antivax healthcare professionals even some conspiracy believers. find a new provider if you come across one, they are not serious people and many need some sort of mental health therapy. i always found it odd that these same people had no problems seeking cancer treatments.

Yes!!!! I worked with a mental health nurse at the VA who was also anti-VAX she will be retiring shortly, but I made a point of volunteering to work at the vaccine clinic the minute the vaccine became available so I could get the hell away from her!

When I was still working it was in a mental health section of a hospital. ALL employees required to get vaccinated. They had one lame thing they could try to get out of it but at the end of the day you either got the shot or you could lose your job, IIRC. One I knew got the shot, another retired.

We have one or two instances of them substituting water for vaccinations to try to prove their beliefs - which means there are more that went unreported because they weren't mass cases like the ones who got caught. Compare to ppl who trigger allergic reactions on purpose to "prove" they're fake.

Was just talking abt how a beautiful individual we knew was talked by her nurse daughter into not taking the vaccine. Just as she was about to be put on a ventilator she was so ill she said she’d take the vaccine once she recovered. She never did. I wonder what her daughter tells herself about this.

My chemo infusion RN refused to mask till I reported her.
She begrudgingly did around me after that, but I know she was out partying and never masked outside the infusion room. I am also an RN.
I never felt more vulnerable than in that room.
No enforcement of basic respiratory infection control.

I totally agree.
I was in a room full of immunocompromised individuals who loudly professed their love for all things trump for 5 hours every session. I was an expert at sinking into the chair and disappearing. Anxiety got the better of me more than once. Forgiveness is hard to come by.

It should be the basic thing to be a nurse is to care if you are getting your patients who are already sick, more sick. It’s wild that there are nurses who are like screw them. They say “I don’t care if they die” to their own patients that they look in the eye every day. That blows my fucking mind.
