Think different in 2025:
Find and support businesses that are actually doing the right thing. Money talks—spend it where it matters.

I'm looking up companies on the "Goods Unite Us" app before I buy almost everything.
Maybe they will change?
We do have Grocery Outlet here, though, which is pretty good.
Here are the facts.
Walmart employee benefits (full time):
Health coverage, Life insurance, Paid time off, 401(k) plan with a match, stock purchase plan, College tuition and books, Paid maternity and parental leave up to 16 weeks, Discounts, Annual bonus incentives, Long incentive plans.
Walmart only gives the vast majority of the employees 32 hrs a week. That way if OT is required they can still keep them under 40.

Don't forget Costco.
Much bigger & the items are consistent.
Time to fight back against all oligarchs with all available options
People really think that selfishness is the only modus operandi of people.
Yet they fail to see that people can do good and efficient things without wanting a profit.
It's a matter of culture that has been fostered in the United States.

Living a life just to accumulate money is not the only way to exist.
There are a lot of good people helping Ukraine without profit incentive. Like I myself donated money to soldiers without expecting anything back.

Folks that live in a regular neighborhood.
HEB is great, but its an exception in privately owned grocers, most of them aren't great to their employees.
Not everything is as it seems in fact nothing is.
They’ve grown since then.
Rural area somewhere out towards the coast, I think?
Too bad they’re not in MN. Costco and Target are my go-to stores here. I was glad to see Costco stand up to demands they drop DEI.
However, region issues are an issue.
CostCo's slower expansion than Sam's Club is for the same reason.
Winco is right across the street.
No to Albertsons Safeway. I’ve never set foot in #Walmart.
I used Amazon a lot when I lived in the Northwoods of Minnesota and the options of shopping were limited.
No one should feel guilty because of their needs. 🙂
"If a 12-year-old can get pregnant, she can give birth."
"I know an abused 13-year-old who gave birth. She is glad she did. Don’t assume pregnancy is traumatic. For a young girl, it is certainly a trial, but with love and support, it is not necessarily a trauma."
and in 🇬🇧: Tesco, Morrison's, Sainsbury, Lidl uk, etc
Where are they forced to stand?
And WHY? It seems inhumane.
Stop buying anything from businesses that don't treat their employees in a decent way. Stop supporting the Musk's of the world. BOYCOTT THEM AND THEIR BUSINESSES.

$pend $$$ wisely.
Don't $pend your $$$ with fascists.
Don't $shop at knee-bender's stores.
Don't purcha$e knee-bender products.
I like hy-vee and meijer depending on where I am
I hate Walmart
We have Woodman’s here in Wisconsin. Employee owned. Phil and Clint are great guys to work for.
If ordinary people don’t do it; the status quo remains.
Income gap is #1 issue.
Less reported by Follow the Money..
In comparison Wal Mart Corp donated $3.4m all Republican in 2024..and spent another $5.78M on lobbying Congress in 2024.
This explains the difference in data.
Down with the Kroger monopoly, up with community gardens and co-ops.
Capitalist Economy and First Past the Post ➡️ the eventual and ultimate arrival at the second worst reality imaginable.
We don’t need money in politics. We just need people to participate.

I worked at Walmart as a cashier in 2018. $13.50/hr, 401K, health, vision, and dental insurance.
I still agree about shopping local, but these numbers should be updated
It's also modified by the labor market. A tighter labor supply means more $ to attract workers.
I said I’d never shop there again since I quit, but I hate to admit I have a few times. I’m shopping around more, finding stores that charge less, even without my discount.
Like, the truth is bad enough. You don't need to lie about Walmart.

Sounds like a good store
Donation Distribution
Percentages donated by senior employees and / or company. 21% democrat vs 79% republican"...1
There aren't any where I live, and in the last place I lived Walmart drove them out of business.
I think I'll have to find out how far away the nearest independent is.
We've got to organise.
Following.
And yet I rarely see apps that inform people on this front. Imagine if your nav had a plugin to find the best stores?
I haven't eaten fast food from a franchise chain that isn't Dicks in years now and I'm really happy about that
😉
(Sorry, mobile audio is always terrible)
Only purchase what’s made or grown with Love ❤️
And Love one another FFS! 🫂
Hate destroys your gall bladder #Fact
I’m fortunate to live in a small town which actively scares off big box stores. We have more “mom and pop” shops per capita than anywhere in 🇨🇦 - our town survived COVID because we actively supported our small local businesses, because they are our neighbours. Capitalism 2.0!
Punch up, shop down ☺️
STOP using Amazon
STOP using Facebook
STOP using Twitter
STOP feeding the billionaires
We need to see more incentives for employee-owned businesses. One in my area is Noodles & Co — an employee owned restaurant chain.
Opened Bsky and the world became quiet again. I know the bots and the morons will amble over and piss all over the place, but it’s nice now.
It's a parasitic relationship.
All I was trying to point out is misinformation doesnt help either, Walmart blows.
See the co-operative principles: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rochdale_Principles
But Walmarts national minimum starting wage is $16 an hour.
Plus all part time or full time can g have health benefits
Plus FREE ged and collage - full or part time associates from day one
Sounds high to me.
Maybe, but they ain't workin full time
It's a great thing for the local workforce... Better wages and ownership!
So much cheaper yet they're expanding for the second time in 3 years
But watch out- not updated. Zuckerberg & Bezo biz do not reflect their current choice to align w oligarchs.
We really need to be more liberal and democratic when it comes to defending our worker's rights.
Time to let big business: including #amazon go to the side.
#amazon doesn't obey the warranties they sell nor do they "guarantee" their Chinese POS products

(Finished the questionnaire...but too old to figure out a user name that it liked to get the report. Will try again.)
Since it's inception, Walmart positioned itself in areas that literally drove small, independent businesses out, leaving them as the only choice. Food is cheaper, survival forces shopping there.
