With all this popcorn talk… are y’all still using those bags of microwave popcorn, or have you become enlightened and do it on the stove top?

Stove top. Wide, shallow, walled pan. Melt the butter in the pan after. Old bay.

I’m a single issue voter - bagged and microwave popcorn should be banned. Kernels only.

Stove top popcorn is like Sewanee football. Great in the 1890s, fallen by the wayside as the superior Tennessee-bagged popcorn emerged over the next thirty years

I’m going to be honest with you… I’m strictly into microwave popcorn for the chemical slug they put on the kernels.

I grew up with an air popper and then switched to stove top specialty popper. But you have to use butter or ghee, no other oil.

Something along the lines of this -

Though, when I had access to a gas burner -

- it's almost got that Jiffy Pop vibe!

I use a stainless steel pot with two ingredients: oil and kernels. I then finish with butter and salt. It’s the way my grandma made it.
