Hot damn... I have been trepiditious because I feel like the entire game being balanced around having to dodge attacks and pull off QTEs to do/take "proper" damage sound really irritating. Like, I like a good turn-based game cuz I get to strategize about the way those turns play out and these /1

systems seem like they would get in the way of that... I dunno, if they added a mode without the QTEs so it played more like a traditional turned based RPG, would it fundamentally ruin the experience?

You can turn off the QTE for player attacks and the difficulty options improve the dodge/parry windows and how much damage you take when you dont.
And you can find pictos in act 1 that modify dodge/parry effects and damage taken.

I have a bad habit of not finishing games I play, I have a huge backlog to get through. My partner noted that not only did I complete this game, I immediately jumped into new game+ to explore more of the world that I had ignored to focus on the spectacular story the first time. This game is amazing.

I've only ever 100%'d like 3 games. I'm almost certain Clair Obscur is going to be my fourth.
