If the US is going to help Russia evade sanctions, it in turn should be sanctioned. Upper middle class liberals deeply need to deeply cut personal consumption to put their money where their mouth is

This is the reality. Everything Trump does in terms of foreign policy either moves us closer to the wrong side of world war 3 or legitimizes and justifies the consequences that Russia experiences for their own decisions. Russia has the USA locked in a mutual death spiral.
I have no idea what upper middle class liberals have to do with the subject of sanctions against Russia or where info about US helping Russia evade sanctions comes from other than you. I would be interested in the source for the latter.
Or uhhhh the big man's statements this morning, that he was considering lifting sanctions on ag products and fertilizer and bank restrictions because the Russians have been very well behaved in agreeing to a limited ceasefire that disproportionately benefits them
Upper middle class liberals' luxury spending is a large enough portion of the US economy that if they (we, really, if I'm generous with the definition of upper) have it in their power to initiate a recession, and should
Disagree that there is such a thing as an 'upper middle class liberal', but that depends on how you define 'liberal'. I also disagree with your economic analysis. Luxury items by those who can afford them are well insulated from recession. https://bowermangroup.com/reasons-why-the-recession-wont-affect-luxury/
Apparently half of the consumption spending in this country covers from the top 10% of households. So, those earning more than $191,500/yr are the ones most relevant to your statement.
What does this look like? I need to eat, my house needs electricity.
This is a genuine question, I frequently wonder what I can do with my money that, if others like me did it at scale, would have an impact. I'd love suggestions.
Not sure how the sanctions situation relates to upper middle class liberals cutting personal consumption or even why it's just them. But cutting back on spending right now & saving as much as possible is a good idea for everybody. You might need the money & if not, you can help someone who does.
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't oppose any such sanctions lol Trump tariffs are economic seppuku and I have nothing to bleed that isn't basically lost already. Burn the economy maybe the planet has a chance then.
Dunno if im “upper middle class” but yeah, I’ve elected to buy used off ebay or not buy at all a lot so far this year. I have no intentions of stopping either.
