Lot of people saying it's not HL3 here. You should check out the datamining that's been done over the past four years (Tyler McVicker on youtube for example)

It could still be cancelled, or completely rebuilt into something new - but atm there *for sure* is a new flatscreen Half-Life game at Valve

We know from data mining Source 2 game updates Valve is actively working on a new Half Life, plus at the end of the Half Life 2 20th Anniversary documentary Gabe Newell basically says that the time is right for Half Life 3.

Hot take: If they reveal a new HL game it should be called HL4. I don't care what people say, Alyx is HL3. Alyx's ending fundamentally changes the ending of HL2, & needs to be played after.
It's why I tell people to consume things in release order, because that's how it was intended to be consumed.
