Much love to President Carter. He outlived them all. 100 - a tough record to break. I'm saddened, but I'm also happy for him. He made it. No small feat, indeed. Now at least, President Biden can give him that state funeral that he wouldn't have gotten a month from now.
Well at least he gets to escape the downfall of the country.Shame to live so long&see your country fall that you served as president.Well that only leaves Bill Clinton,GW Bush the last Republican,Obama&Biden. Those are the last presidents of the USA.Let that sink in as we stare into the abyss.
He was a role model for us all. How to inspire rather than force. A man who walked the talk everyday. What a tragedy we allowed ourselves to be told he was weak.
Considering how many people considered him as an underrated president, for the many days the hostages were held in Iran, because of him, every one of them returned to this country with their hairs unharmed.
Reagan actually pulled a Trump before trump by having a secret meeting with Iran to ask them to hold onto the hostages until he was elected. We lionized Reagan because the press was kind to him. But later knowledge shows he didn’t deserve it.
Reagan went behind President Carter’s back & told the Ayatollah not to release the hostages until after the US election was over & if they did he would sell them weapons which was illegal & against the Constitution. Do Reagan was treasonous by going behind the back of a sitting President. Eat that!
The religious leaders were probably quick to return them to our soil, thinking with Reagan coming into office he might blow their country to kingdom come.
Not really. They GOP had made a deal to wait until Reagan was sworn in. They had unlawful contacts with Iran and prolonged the suffering of the hostages for their own political gain.
I remember the very public announcement made on that day he was inaugurated.
The whole affair stunk to the high heavens from the 1st point of the illegal, behind the scenes, talks with Iran.
I believe what you say. There were unlawful contacts. I do feel there was a willingness, on their part, to talk to Reagan unsure of his actions when coming into office.
There had to be someone in their government who knew who the doves were, and who the party of hawks were.
House of Representatives did an investigation into Reagan’s campaign and found nothing credible. But others have discussed William Casey running a covert plan so it’s a 🤷
Even if you feel he was not good at his job, one cannot deny he was genuinely one of the very few presidents we've ever had especially in the last 80 years that was a good person.
As a young farm kid, I recall being amazed a lowly peanut farmer could become President of the US. It's unfortunate his hope to see Kamala become POTUS didn't work out. #RIP Jimmy Carter. 🙏
My second. Voted for him both times and was devastated he lost. One of the worse decisions we the people made. (It started this current political climate)
Actually, I was just thinking this same thing. Biden will give his life and legacy the celebration it deserves! Such a sad end to 2024 which in itself was already ending with despair over our future.
I’ve been fascinated by the last 2 US elections, and conservative parties around the world have been emulating the GOP’s successful tactics, including here in Australia. It’s not exactly the same but important lessons can still be learned, and everyone is entitled to their opinion 😁
Such a wonderful, beautiful, truly decent man, even in the face of horrible personal attacks. I am not sure we deserved him. A true example we should all strive to emulate. R.I.P.
Sad news for me, having grown up in Atlanta, and been inspired by his work all
my life. His life and legacy remains an inspiration for underdogs around the world #projectunderdoginternational
Together again with his love, Rosalynn, in that great city where there's no need to to build homes for the poor and downtrodden anymore. What saints, what good, good people he and Rosalynn were. 💙🙏
This matters to absolutely no one but me, but sometime in 1977 my dear mum was getting double social security checks monthly. She wrote to Jimmy Carter and one day the phone rang and i answered it and it was "the office of president Carter!" I was so happy but wish mum had of been home to answer.
I heard him speak once, when I was in graduate school in the '80s. I remember him saying, "Ask yourself how you can make this life a great life." I am still asking myself and trying my best. He achieved it. I know it was inevitable, but I am still sad.
😢 President Carter was a truly honorable, caring human being. He embodied everything that Christians claim to live by.
The world desperately needs more leaders like Jimmy Carter.
🙏 for President Carters' family. He was a good man, and I'm thankful he passed during President Biden's administration. This way, we ensure President Carter gets the send-off he deserves.
Such a beautiful person, we should all aspire to live our lives like he and his wife did! 🤲🤲🤲🤲 God's speed President Carter, thank you for your service!
I'm just dreading the late night Twitter post where DJT says something awful about him.
We all know it's coming as Trump doesn't know HOW to say something nice or dignified.
RIP President Carter.
😞
At least he will get the honors he deserves from President Biden. I would not trust Mr. Trump to treat President Carter with the respect he deserves.
#RIPPresidentCarter
Building houses for people while battling cancer at the age of 95, he was truly an inspiration and the world would be a better place if more people were like him. Rest in Peace President Carter.
How devastating! He was such a kind man and a living example of what a true Christian is like. I have always admired him. And he was a pretty damn good president too.
He was a good man. We all should aspire to be more like him. Kind, compassionate, and humble. I wish more politicians were as honest as him. I hope he's with Rosalyn now. Together, they were an amazing pair. I was honored to meet them a few times. They were just the sweetest people.
God Bless Jimmy Carter and his family. I am proud of voting for him twice for President. I feel sorrow for his defeat that gave us Reagan and set our country on the path we are on now.
He was truly a good man. America could use a few more today.
So sad to hear. He was a great American and sadly today’s America is incapable of understanding this…he was kind, honorable, compassionate and dedicated to putting his words into actions. His example should be celebrated. RIP Jimmy Carter
Sad day for America. Amazed we were so fortunate to have him for so long, though. What a truly good human being. May he know eternal peace, and may his memory be a blessing to us all.

His memory will indeed be a blessing.
Glad he will not see the traitors’ inauguration.
I so wish he had gotten to enjoy our first female president… President Harris.
Too bad he endured watching the buffoon re-elected.
RIP Beautiful Soul.
In 2025, Trump wants to abolish the US Delt of Educ. He wants LESS for the people, a sign of a weak leader.
In 1979, Carter put solar panels on the White House. He understood the assignment.
Noam Chomsky… 👀🫣
Rest in peace sir.
Such a shame.

Angels will celebrate this mans life.
RIP
The world desperately needs more leaders like Jimmy Carter.
The press blamed him for everything. 4 years after Watergate, the GOP was in control again.
I don't ever want to hear how liberal the press is.
We all know it's coming as Trump doesn't know HOW to say something nice or dignified.
RIP President Carter.

Thank You President Jimmy Carter for all you have done, and the inspiration you leave behind. 💙
There are few men like him when we need so many right now.

I was expecting this tbh… and honestly dreaded it happening next month when he might not have gotten the respectful state funeral he rightly deserves.
