Imagine being desperate to dig the dirt on your opposition and this being the worst thing you can find to accuse them of. Meanwhile the conservatives are guilty of deliberate fraud to the tune of millions of pounds.
The Conservative party chair, Nigel Huddleston, told Sky News the revelations were “extremely concerning”. But allowing the son of a Senior KGB Agent, to sit in House of lords against the security Services advise is ok then?
next time there is a political scandal they should keep name and party anonymous, watch peoples heads explode not knowing if they should condemn or defend.
I think it is worth reporting so the facts are disclosed. But really, it seems like an honest mistake as they say, with no material gain. So the opposition should get back to some real work.
Why was this even in the courts? Way too over zealous policing for what seems to be an easy mistake to make. No wonder jails are full, PC plods focused on the wrong stuff.
I just posted something that I have deleted. There is more to this than I first heard on LBC and then heard this head line. I will wait for the facts to come out. Apologies to anyone offended (not like I have a large following) sorry.
Wow the true colours of this government are coming out fast, freeloading Keir, lying Reeves and now criminal Haigh. Can’t wait to see what’s next. They are imploding almost as fast the nutter Truss’ lot.
Probably because the Conservatives are desperately trying to use this to smear Labour. The fact they are this desperate is a good sign and that they aren't finding anything real.
It’s almost* as bad as if she’d actively defrauded the taxpayer of millions during an unprecedented pandemic, bought a yacht then repeatedly lied about it.
Here is a scandal for you, you recover a lost or stolen mobile phone and approach the mobile network operator. They will take it for recycling and nothing more. They will however at the same time supply a new phone to the owner at the insurer's expense!
I would very much wish her to be my MP and believe she has a bright future, but I think this is a difficult one for the PM as the other side will make hay. On the day that her transport strategy was published too. Very, very cynical timing for something that is 'old' news.
That's that then. A great shame, but understandable in the current climate. If we all had to pay for the mistakes of our youth to this extent the world would be a crazier place.

Reform MP lied about the details of his prison sentence for assaulting a woman. Did not initially disclose sentence
Labour MP has a spent conviction, non custodial & non violent. It was fully disclosed from the start
Spot the difference
Nothing to see here
In comparison to the mountains of completely undisclosed convictions, fraud and poor conduct by the tories... Is Jones an editor now?
Assuming that she complied with its conditions, her discharge became absolute: s14(1) of the Powers of Criminal Courts (Sentencing) Act 2000
It's a spent conviction that she declared and has no bearing on her job.
The bigger issue is, why are women not safe to go out for the evening?
* hmmmm
I'm just an American, but this is a giant nothing burger.
