What hurts me the most is it’s vaccinated parents deciding not to vaccinate their children , the children suffer. Take a trip to India where it’s more difficult to get vaccines for measles , polio etc and see the disabilities & death , broken parents who wish they could have prevented It.
And RFK jr will make them illegal. He was vaccinated from birth & had the best medical care available. But hey let’s thin the MAGA herd. The rest of us will need to be on the black market to protect our kids.
I watched a video last night about the 2019 NYC measles outbreak. 1 unvaccinated kid hops off an international flight and develops measles, he was in a Hasidic community that had just below 80% vaccination rates.
I believe over the course of 10 months ~600 something people got measles. 1 kid.
Besides the lack of education, most Americans have not seen the ravages of these diseases. They have no clue as to what they can do. They do not appreciate that our relatives, who did not have the educational opportunities that we have today, are the ones who stepped up to make this possible.
I remember my grandparents, who raised me, being excited about the advent of a number of vaccinations. I had mumps, measles and chicken pox but survived. I got everything available, I am sure, and then got more when I entered the Army and for years after. I have complete confidence in them.
Thank goodness for those vaccines. I grew up in the 1950s/60s with mumps, measles, chicken pox. Every kid I knew caught 'em. Those diseases were serious shit.
I grew up during those decades, too. We caught them, too, and we were lucky to recover unscathed. Mom nearly died from measles-induced pneumonia when she was 6 months old. She made sure that my brother and I got what shots were available at the time.
MAGA doesn’t care about facts or science, only made up bullshit that suits their ignorance and prejudices. If voters cared about facts, Republicans would lose every election in every jurisdiction nationwide.
My great uncle had polio. He was crippled all his life and died in 98 at the age of 85. Growing up, he was my inspiration. They were from an Italian family that came here in 1902. Seeing him still live and work as best he could ❤️ but I got to see what it does and it made me understand the importance
I remember enduring measles, rubella, mumps, chicken pox, whooping cough. All were dreadful, two sent me to the hospital. A cousin of mine still bears the scars of polio. Post-boomers could take our word, but I guess that would be asking too much.
Apparently not enough Americans died under CRIMINAL DJTS watch, nope, we need more deaths, so they can blame everyone else for their own grotesque stupidity and gulliblity.!
Wait till u see what measles & polio do to a child. It will have him back tracking, saying he never said vaccination was bad, just covid vaccination is bad. And the idiots will clap
And it's just pitiful that the proposed head of the Health and Human Sevices Department is the one who doesn't understand this. Maybe Mike Lindell can solve his financial woes if he gets chosen to run the Department fo Defense?
On that note: can you find someone who does not eat road kill to lead the HHS? I would say basic food handling should be a requirement for that position.
Question, all the illegals that flooded in didn’t require a vaccination….but to come in Legally you are required to be vaxxed. Shouldn’t the requirement be the same considering who knows where these people have been or what disease they are bringing to our country?
From what I was reading recently, they were saying that there's polio in some of the water systems in major cities, and they advised older Americans to look into a booster shot.
My hubs is a longtime family md, who at th height of Covid came home frustrated. «The same people who trust me w their heart disease, diabetes, all chronic & urgent conditions, don’t believe me on this 1 thing. Even those who’ve taken every other vax, it’s just this that I’m untrustworthy about.»
It’s people like you, Seth Abramson, who don’t seem to get that we are in a post-truth, post-data, post-science, post-common sense, post-brain waves world. Geez, get with the program, will ya?
RFK Jr. is asking for the data. Did you give it to him? Do you think he will be able to understand what this data means? I don't know what is sadder: an ignorant person who plays ignorant or an ignorant person who plays smart. I am sure about what is more dangerous...
My aunt nearly died from measles encephalitis. I told my grandma about anti-vax movement. She was astonished. She would have done anything to prevent the permanent brain damage her child suffered. They had planned a funeral for their 7 year old. Memory fades and propaganda wins.
I remember my mom taking me to the doctor in a taxi (which we couldn’t really afford) to get a polio shot in the mid 50’s. I also remember that she actually cried with joy and relief when I had gotten the short. Too bad so many people didn’t have those experiences these days.
I was one of the last people in the 70s to get small pox. I wouldn't wish that on anyone! Fever of 106F at times, head to toe blisters. My face has some scars, but my back and sides are the worst.
Parents who choose the rout of antivaxxers are forcing the consequences on their children. How many deaths and disabilities will it take before they wake up? After a million people died from Covid - we still haven’t learned.
My cousin married a guy who had a bad case of mumps when he was a kid. The virus settled "down there", rendering him sterile. They adopted a baby my cousin's co-worker was going to abort.
I had the mumps, rubella, chicken pox. I got the measles vaccine when it first came out. I got the polio vaccine as well. My older siblings and parents had friends who had polio. RFK Jr. is older than I am so he should remember too.
My aunt would be 92 - if she hadn't died of diphtheria in 1932.
The woman who would've been my mother-in-law died from polio in 1954 - she was 26.
Ask Alan Alda, Mia Farrow & Mitch McConnell abt surviving polio.
One of my patients died from chicken pox in 1992 - she was 20.
I had Pertussis at 17.
Eradication of Polio and smallpox is huge. They hace taken so many lives throughout history. Even FDR was paralysed and lost his ability to walk due to polio
Just beyond living memory. It’s strange that seems to be when people stop believing. I saw so many people with stacked shoes and crutches when I was a child. Insanity that people are giving it away.
Yes, but it could also mean that everyone with underlying conditions caused by smoking, drinking, and diabetes may not be part of the data pool because most of them may had died during the pandemic, yeah?
Fantastic chart but it ends at 2010. It doesn't show this amazing DATA next to the vaccine stories happening since the pandemic. I'd love to see this updated to show the impact and damage that happens when such a large portion of the country become anti-vax.
I’m sure a nurse somewhere told someone that ivermectin cured a polio patient back in the day and that there was no need for a vaccine … yeah , uh huh.
“In 1736, I lost one of my sons, a fine boy of four, by smallpox. I long regretted bitterly & still regret I had not given him inoculation. This I mention for the sake of parents on the supposition that they should never forgive themselves if their child dies."
~Benjamin Franklin
Yes, we have all but eradicated & in some cases we have eradicated childhood illnesses that killed millions of children. All becuz of vaccines. Robert Kennedy Jr as HHS will reverse that. Will it be your grandchild that dies becuz of his lack of intelligence on the matter of vaccines?🇺🇸🦋
I’m an old lady who remembers two school mates who got polio. One walked with a deformed left leg for the rest of his life. I proudly show off my small pox vax scar. It’s kind of like a combat wound cause that was a scary vaccination, but I’ve never once regretted it.
In measles if you have a thousand cases: 100 will be sick enough to need hospitalization, of those 10 will be disabled for life, and 1 will die. 900 of the 1000 will get through it.
My mother had two younger siblings who died of diptheria in the 30's. Later mom became an RN and you can bet her 8 kids had every vaccine available.
People don't know the horrors of childhood diseases.
My daughter moved in with me for high school. Her mom is an anti-vaxer, and I've been scrambling for months to get my kid protected. She feels like a pin cushion, but I'm feeling so blessed that we should be up to date before all hell breaks loose
I can't believe this even needs to be posted.
It should be trivia just showing how effective vaccines are.
NOT something to try to convince people to keep taking them.
Disease is sort of like climate change, if you ignore it, it's going to do it's thing anyway; where if you pay attention & take action you have a chance.
Is it really going to take a bunch of innocent babies and children getting debilitatingly sick or dying to convince parents that vaccination saves lives? Drives me crazy how stupid our population has become.
Allow me to disagree... population has not become stupid... we have not evolved that much in the last 50,000 years (5,000 for some among of us). It is just human nature. It is just history repeating itself.
agreed, but I think it is closer to garbage in garbage, which I guess is an aspect of being human. If all the information you consume is garbage, then that is what will come out. It has more to do with the information landscape than human nature.
Agreed. And part of human nature, in my book, is to consume garbage information. It really tastes good. I would say, for many is just as addictive as any good recreative drug... At much lower cost.
I'm not sure what the appropriate response is here:
A. But the price of eggs!
B. My freedom cannot be infringed.
C. I've got mine, now you can go get yours.
D. Who will think of the billionaires?
E. Something something muh First Amendment.
THANK YOU for publishing this. None of us who are old enough to remember want to see a child die en ‘simple childhood diseases’. If you have ever cared for a bright toddler left blind and deaf from measles you will do EVERYTHING to avoid seeing it again.
What I want to hear or see RFK defend is 'how many died before, and how many died from the vaccine; also the complications.
It seems the "deniers always have 'an incident', but never seem to have the data"!
Obviously, vaccines work. But, vaccine mandates are illegal. The gov't cannot legally require mass medication as a requirement for attending school or to have a job.
You don't even have to go further back than the Covid pandemic. The number of deaths in the US alone were already devastating. If there were no vaccines distributed, given the levels of obesity and other conditions in the US, the amount of deaths would be staggering even when compared to this graph
“Celebrating” Thanksgiving this weekend with my AV in laws. Thank you for the graphs and info. Love having ammunition when discussing their outrageous claims.
thanks to vaccines diseases are either 100% wiped out like smallpox is or suppressed enough to the point where they can no longer kill ppl and that's the point of the vaccines is to make a new sickness (COVID) be downgraded from a global problem (pandemic) to your basic bitch cold
and you've got 223 yrs worth of how vaccines work (1796-2019) and COVID hit in 2020 and all of a sudden any/all vaccines are "bad/poisonous" GTFO with that BS b/c where was all this "bad" shit abt them BEFORE the virus hit... I'll wait
I was vaccinated for smallpox multiple times because you had to have a scar as proof, and my body wouldn’t comply. I’m nearly 82 and in good health. Maybe vaccines aren’t so bad? 😉
I'm old enough to remember the rows of empty seats that happened when those childhood diseases went through the classroom in waves. I also remember how unpleasant it was to have those diseases. Before Tylenol.
These diseases just don't go away. Vaccines are the bulwark that stops them from returning. Mother Nature never, ever gives up, she just bides her time. She's got alllllll day.
The only positive aspect of this whole thing is that vaccines will still be available to those that believe in science. I'm vaccinated and I'm going to make sure they are up to date so I should be safe from all the walking Petri dishes around me.
I guess of course until drumpf dismantles the CDC...
While you will be in a better position, unfortunately, you will get absolute immunity. A big part of the vaccine's benefit is herd immunity. Sadly, try to restrict your contact with unvaccinated people as much as possible to increase your chances of stayin healthy
I remember kids being sick all of the time. They used to call them “childhood illness” like it was normal. It doesn’t happen any more. Why the hell would we want to go back to that? It was awful.

Expect more of this with RFK jr brainwashing the masses.

Bird flu is the next pandemic. Which affected egg prices.
Also, COVID never went away. Just less reporting.
& watch conspiracy videos daily 🫣
RFK Jr must have stock in iron lung machine companies!

How anyone (except a complete idiot can negate the impact)
Putin and his boy want everyone to suffer as much as the people in Ukraine.

How can anyone who is has more than one brain cell negate the effect?
Why, just why don’t these people get one if the diseases? May be because they are privileged, rich, protected bast****s
I lived in Africa … they should see the misery

130 million American adults read below a 6th grade education. Under TFG's 2nd term, this number will grow exponentially. smdh.
