@joebidenbsky.bsky.social This looks like genocide to me, Joe. What do you think? Say it ain't so, Joe. Surely, you wouldn't preside over a genocide using our military hardware and American tax dollars. Surely you wouldn't have sanctioned the mass murder of children.
The government in Kyiv estimates that at least 19,500 Ukrainian children have been deported and forcibly displaced from their homes to Russia and Russian-occupied territories since the full scale invasion began in February 2022, and of those only 388 have returned home.
And there are probably fivefold that number of Syrians and Gazans being reported and forcibly displaced from their homes to international occupied territories like Israel and Lebanon since 2010. None of it is okay.
Now, let's understand the number of families, generations.. prevented from being produced from those 11, 355 children who have been murdered.( I imagine a whole lot more with the missing children)
Pure genocide.
What’s the point of this? Was Israel supposed to just sit back after terrorists barbarously murdered 1200 Israelis, engaged in sexual violence, and took hundreds of hostages including women and children?
Ukraine also doesn't have hamas living under their schools, hospitals and residential buildings. no doubt bibi needs to be removed but comparing the situations seems irresponsible or disingenuous.
Its NOT #Complicated The #Israelis and their supporters have been appropriating the Narrative of the people of #Palestine for decades.. whilst simultaneously Oppressing them..
think about that for a second..

Correcting numbers like this is hard to do without sounding like a monster, so I will say two things:
1. This number is likely massively inflated and inaccurate, and getting the numbers right does matter (source https://www.cfr.org/blog/un-halves-its-estimate-women-and-children-killed-gaza)
2. Even one child dead is an incalculable tragedy.
That is from May and they walked that statement back later after the numbers were verified as true as i recall. the numbers in the OP are the more recent totals of verified dead and could be undercounted by more than 100k for people who are missing or unverified.
I recommend this analysis. We should never minimize the toll of war. Every life lost is a world lost. But I think it's irresponsible to publish numbers that cannot be verified.
This chart doesn’t take into account Gaza’s population was 2.2 Million before October 2023; whereas Ukraine was 43M; so on a per capita basis, Gaza’s children annual deaths by Israeli Barbarism is equivalent to 215,000 Ukrainian children or 1.65 Million American Children/year
Not accounted for proportion of kids as part of a general population, total amount of residents, and an average number of kids per family, and the population density. Not to dismiss the tragedy tho, just pointing out how these numbers w/o providing an additional context could be misleading.
Are you placing less value on other places because fewer kids died? Numpty.
Do I need to remind you Ukraine is defending itself.
Hamas provoked Israel by murdering, raping, mutilating (usually while alive) 1200 people.
Some of them even phones home to brag about it to their families.
It's a zero sum game to play with numbers of deaths.
ONLY 500 children in Ukraine died. Children who have been living in terror for three years. Sitting in ice cold bomb shelters at 3am, then 11am, then 4pm, then BOOM, a few of them die.
For a war they did not choose.
Hamas chose this.
When they went into Israel, those Arabs knew who lived in each house. They murdered the security guards first. How could they know? Many Arabs from Gaza worked in Israel. Conservatively, several HUNDRED THOUSAND people directly providing material support are needed to support 40,000 terrorists.
Yes it is a crime to target civilians.
Get Hamas to stop using their people (no such thing as Palestinians BTW but that's another issue) as shields.
When they want to find a tunnel access they enter a home and look under the kids' beds first.
Also stop using hospitals as command centers.
Do you reckon the IDF would behave the same if Hamas was hiding in a school on the other side of the border?
"There might be some Hamas fighters in there, let's flatten the school"
Of course not. They put a vastly different value on civilian lives according to who those civilians are.
That's bad.
Is this the recorded number of murdered children or an estimate? I keep hearing that the real number is probably much higher than what’s being reported - especially with aid workers and journalists also being murdered at in unprecedented numbers and the near complete destruction of infrastructure.
If numbers weren’t hard, people would see this and easily understand why the rational minds have stated throughout that you can be anti-Hamas while also calling out Netanyahu’s wrongdoing.
With over 2500 kids dying each year just in the USA due to gun crime maybe you should compare that against countries that are literally at war and in regards to Syria have been for well over a decade?
Yeah, it's really unfortunate that you have terrorist organizations threatening Israel's very existence. The civilian casualty rate has been low for urban warfare.
See the UNICEF report above, which the OP could have looked up themselves but they wanted to leave a false impression on my readers—which will get them blocked if they do it again.
3119 is from 2008 to 2022. The Iraq war began in 2003. Rather critical period from 2003-2007.
For victims whose ages were identified Iraq body count says 9% are children. If extrapolated that’s 20k based on their confirmed dead numbers, which certainly understate the actual full impact.
I can’t imagine it’s what Biden and Blinken had in mind when they went into public service. But it’s what many of us will have in mind when we think of them.
Comments
How many of the thousands of children kidnapped and sent to Russia are alive? There are no accurate records for Russian occupied Ukraine.
Also Ukraine has lost way more children, those are just numbers that have been verified.
See the difference?
The casualty figures put out by the Gazan Health Ministry have been broadly accurate for decades and the entire world has—rightly—relied on them.
I understand you are speaking from prejudice, but this data comes from civilian doctors—not soldiers.
Pure genocide.
I understand disputes, but when you start targeting the innocent, you’ve become war criminals.

(3,119 killed / 16 years = 195.)
Which is still horrifying.
