In some cases. My first surgeon didn’t know that. Second one at Kaiser separated and incised some tissues surrounding Otosclerotic apparatus and it fixed the problem.

Long covid can cause. Couldn't say about the vaccine. But after I had covid, I had all sorts of ear and throat issues. A symptom of the inflammation caused by covid. It's pretty rare, but it's why I have a very quiet tinnitus and cause skin irritations too. I'm hoping mine isn't permanent

I learned a trick from the bad place awhile back- (before it was bad) put your hands (palms)over your ears all fingers touching the back of your head- tap fingers on the back of head for a minute or so. Sometimes it works completely! Put a bit of pressure on palms over ears as you tap fingers

When I was 11, they took out my tonsils. The only thing they gave me for pain when I got home was aspergum. I chewed it constantly. Aspirin is ototoxic. I think that is why I have it. Sometimes it's worse than others and it hard to go to sleep. I put in my earbuds and play music to fall asleep by.

That's like my secondary one. It's drowned out to some extent by the louder high pitched one. Fortunately it doesn't bother me indeed I'm not even aware of it most of the time unless I make a point of listening to it.

You can manage it over time, just don't react to the noise, but it is hard. Especially falling asleep or concentrating on something if you are already agitated. No easy fix either, surgically replacing the cochlea is challenging, and the effects of it could be much worse.

It's constant in one ear. High pitched noise and a quieter shushing noise. Fortunately I can largely ignore it.

Tbh this type of conditions scare me more than stuff that you can just fix or get rid of with medication.

All the time. But at least for me it becomes part of the background to where it really doesn't bother me day to day. But if it gets to quiet or if I focus on it, it can get pretty loud, and then sometimes it just randomly gets loud. I genuinely thought I was surroundes by crickets for years.

My tinnitus doesn't bother me really. I've just told myself it's residual hearing loss from the aftereffects of the Big Bang 13.8 billion years ago. Through that, it's a constant reminder of who I really am, which is an extension of that moment, a vibration, a pattern. Namaste. 🙏

oh wait I see your link. FWIW I was told a story about a guy who had tinnitus for years and years and one day, got a neck massage or something as treatment for a pinched nerve, and it went away. Yes way.

It’s a cool (and to my understanding, very new) idea. A wristband with a microphone vibrates in sync with ambient sound, and your brain learns to expect the vibration for all sounds. Since tinnitus doesn’t come from the ambient, it gets drowned out.

I spent eight days camping in a Florida state forest a few weeks ago. During that entire time, I didn't notice my tinnitus, except to marvel at how the nightly noises seemed to be obscuring it. Now that I'm back home, trapped indoors by winter, it's back in force!

Since I was 5 years old I have suffered with tinnitis.
I had measles & mumps at the same time. Fever was often up to 105°. Interestingly, I am musical and play by ear.
The MMR vaccine hadn't been developed yet.

Mine doesn't seem as bad as how others describe, so i feel for yall. I was tripping alone on mushrooms once and after an album finished the silence turned the volume up to a deafening level for about 0.1 seconds. It scared the shit outta me. Ive since accepted my fate
