There's a good bit of research re: use of music/sound to help focus (for example, here's a good review re: personality as a mitigating factor: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5694457/) - but I'm finding little that explores the topic from a neurodiverse perspective.

Amplitude modulation as a variable seems aligned with other research I've found. Might explain the popularity of "8D" mixes (a modulation technique where stems are panned intermittently creating constant movement within the track).
