I mean the deal was basically to do stuff we'd already promised, so we lost nothing by doing it and gained a reprieve. But we all i think knew we'd be back here in a month.

Yup. And even if there was some concession made that made the tariffs go away tomorrow, would we really trust Trump to not arbitrarily reinstate them on a whim at some later date?

I think the only way out is Trump trying to tariff the world at once and destroying the US economy in the process.
