I suggest giving it a try. It will grow back! You know, kind of. So you can go back to your short cut if you so feel, easy peasy. For me personally, it’s been freeing. Everyone is used to seeing my dome, and I don’t have to worry if someone can see through the thinning forest, so to speak.
