I like this question and the answer is probably yes. Who are other candidates? Mary Tyler Moore? Ed O’Neill? I think you have to have thrived in multiple roles, rather than (for instance) playing one iconic one for years and years, like Mariska Hargitay.

But Louis-Dreyfuss is the answer
My answer would definitely be Ellen Pompeo.
-Christmas Vacation
-A Bug's Life
-Planes
-You People
Those are all some pretty big ones that she's had fairly big roles in.
Andy Griffith would be another because of two iconic series title roles, and more recently, Henry Winkler probably entering that conversation. Betty White maybe?
The conversation should be about who is second.
Only person to win a major Emmy for three different roles.
As for anti-recency-bias: I wasn't around for the beginning, but I'd guess Betty White as well
Andy Griffith (Andy Griffith, Matlock)
Buddy Ebsen (Beverly Hillbillies, Barnaby Jones)
