#Adolescence is extraordinary, in every way you can imagine. A tough, realistic, urgent masterclass of writing, acting, directing and social observation. And the kids ... I swear there are 4 future Oscar winners in this show. Brilliant.

Will it cheer me up?
Make me feel less depressed about the world at present?
If not then I'll probably have to pass for now...
I can take a lot of fantasy dystopia but when it becomes too real, especially right now, then I really struggle.
I loved it. The gentle but VERY impactful reference to a certain criminal was masterful. His influence was unmistakable in the...event. Magnificent casting and acting.
Agree. He wrote this (Adolescence) with the guy who wrote several really incredibly good British shows, the one about the care home & Covid, the one about One England.
And Steven acted in both of those And everything else you’ve ever done has been phenomenal as well. I’m a huge fan.
The school scenes were a bit inaccurate. Teachers don’t just stick videos on and leave classrooms. They don’t solicit information as that’s a safeguarding no no. No one walks around with no lanyard where they like even if they’re police.
I thought the same! Security was a bit lapse! Chasing the lad out of the premises was also a bit debatable. It's the only criticism I had of a superb, powerful series.
I binge watched it. So compelling. The way the camera follows through without breaks really pulls you in. The amount of planning and rehearsing must have been colossal. Stunning work by everyone. And I shed a tear at the end.
Timely. Pay attention America. In the best situations, raising good humans is hard. If you think banning books and suppressing discussions around diversity, equity, inclusion — fostering hate, fear and aggression has consequences.
I binged it. However, as a teacher, I can confirm that young, working class, white lads are being radicalised into thinking everyone is a target/ enemy. We need to understand Art reflects life, and do something. #Adolesencce is a warning as well as a masterpiece.
💯 I was mesmerized within minutes of it starting. I did not recognize any of the actors. All phenomenal. Every episode had the intensity of the Christmas episode of The Bear.
Watched in total amazement. The writing, staging and performances were brilliant! Thought-provoking and relevant to now, to always. Deserves all honors and awards!
I'm just watching it now, and I can't believe they shoot each episode in one single camera shot. 😲 All that spectacular acting, and from kids too! Choreographing all that camera work and so many actors with nobody flubbing their lines. Plus the story's so incredible too. It's just mind blowing.
It was so well done. Pure & so real horror.
I’ve let go of that “how could the parents not know” bullshit. How could they imagine that?
This little boy loved the monster inside. Protected it. That’s how he survived his little ugly world.
The series is a thinker.
The scenes with the psychologist were truly chilling and the Dad at the end with the teddy was heartbreaking. It was so powerful and the acting from everyone was off the scale and the message was hard hitting. It deserves awards.
If the 1-shot aspect were the only remarkable thing about this, it'd be a disappointment. But it isn't. The whole thing is extraordinary. Writing, acting, production.
The kid who played Jamie is a first-time actor from what I understand and he was absolutely amazing!!! Since I'm a psychologist, my favorite episode was the 3rd. I've been in her seat many times. I will watch anything with Stephen Graham in it.
Yes, absolutely, but the point is the critical and urgent message that our children are being severely damaged by uncontrolled social media and unrestricted access to the internet.
This is a call to arms for change before it’s too late.
I have been unable to get it out of my mind. Such an amazing piece of drama in every regard, but more than that, a story that grips and squeezes your heart.
As soon as the question "Do you know what CCTV is" I thought uh, oh......😗
This was a thought provoking series, the scene with Mom and Dad on the edge of the bed and that discussion and Dad in his room, was devastating. An important watch for everybody.
One minor character that haunts me is the prison guard. The scenes with him bring me out in a cold sweat. He's the "toxic masculinity" I/Jamie's mum grew up with. From the irritating, patronising mansplaining to the intimidating, threatening just getting way too close, blocking the escape route.
I'm sure pretty much every woman over 25 has met this guy somewhere. In the pub, at work...the one who won't take the hint, the one whose reaction you're afraid of, who gets angry & offended when his behaviour forces you to be more blunt about telling him to back off.
It really was extraordinary! Hard to watch as a parent, terrifying actually. I thought the young actors were just brilliant, but Stephen Graham was outstanding. If this series isn't showered with awards, there's something very wrong with the awards system.
It has been fascinating to watch Walk In immediately afterwards, to observe Graham's portrayal of two entirely different fathers and I wonder if the character from Walk In was represented in Adolescence, how different the son's experience would have been

I cried nearly all the way through.
It’s heartbreaking
A must-watch… but pick something lighter if you need a ‘hug’
This showed the reality of what is happening
My God 🤦♀️🤦♀️

The one tracking shot thing per episode seems genuine and is absolutely amazing
Absolutely scarifying
I totally agree.
Absolutely incredible.
