Yes and isn't even a distinctive to work in normal jobs anyway. If it replaces e.g. unemployment benefits, it would dramatically reduce any disincentive to work.

People not working would not lose the benefit when they get a job. So would be more likely to do so.

It probably depends on the job though. I imagine there are some more popular than others (there probably won't be many takers for sewage work, for example). UBI may not be a disincentive to work in general, but it definitely removes the motivation to work in certain fields.

Every corp that takes resources out of the planet--fish, minerals in the soil, clean air & water, etc.--is taking away from every citizen their share of the planet before those corporations took from it or polluted it. At the VERY LEAST, those corps should contribute to a UBI to pay citizens back.

Universal Basic Income is untenable, unfortunately, for a lot of reasons. I think what we need to work towards is Universal Basic Supply. As in directly providing everyone with the food, clothing, and shelter they need to live.
