Carl Sagan says something very important, a strong message that didn't lose any validity since then.

Thanks, D-Turd.
Unions, wobble.
Take a staycation.
Share the strike with your local news & national social media platforms, companies and family members.
Support the strikers by working together, introduce a barter system, provide bail, food, sanitation, etc.
(Much better than Disco Duck.)

Kids need to play get dirty.
But I water and feed my kids 🤣 just like a plant. My parents never did that they just worked
Lots of parents don't know that.
It wasn’t all feathered hair &Jordache jeans. A lot of ‘50’s control, bigotry &fear carried forward.
Sure, the “conservatives” want us under the thumb of their god, but the godless rich want that even more.
wisdom with the unique gift of brilliant communication to
the common man and women with grace and vigor.
It has been and still being tried even to-day; it is a truth of Humanity.
Humanity's truths are Veritas temporis filia -- Truth is the Daughter of time.
Nobody knows everything.
She's a brilliant adult now
Always catered to their curiosity
Ya know that song? His name's mentioned at the end, in Mad Gab, if you know it. 🤭
(Learn Mad Gab. It's so revealing. 😇)
This has been abandoned recently.
5 years later someone finally explained it wasn't a photograph, but an artist's rendering. Earth Science class.
For those 5 years I was very skeptical of pretty much everything.
Great question. And a humbling reality behind the answer!
Definitely had a pretty good map by the 60's when you and I were children.
You can search "pushpin"
Is that why he was so often cast as a scientist? It immediately reminded the casting people (and the audience) of Sagan, making him more convincing as ‘the very smart guy’?
An open mind is needed for critical thinking, creativity, invention & innovation. It's the basis of objectivity, compassion, humility, humor & faith.
An open mind is not self-oriented or self-righteous. It's necessary for the continuation of the human species.
Very smart man. 💙
Keep reminding us all.
Here is a complex and subtle answer to a question not entirely in his domain.

The funniest moments?
Do.
Very funny.
And we are definitely in very perilous times now.

we'd be stronger & go further together🗽📜⚖️🦅🧠📚
When I said I wanted to be a doctor, both my parents only pointed out the hurdles & closed the matter. 1963ish.
I took it that meant it was out of my league. Parental trust, eh?
I feel for ya, sister!
I wasn't encouraged until I was 18 and about to get married to get away from mom.
I didn't have the self-esteem to do it.
Perhaps if she had encouraged me prior... bygones 🤷♀️
That is what therapy is for 🤣
I had to extemporise the answer, "Time measures change. So imagine absolutely nothing moving, not even light."
Bothering to answer her then meant we could discuss so much by the time she was an adult.
Encouraging questions from kids make them open their minds and stimulate their curiosity to find the answers and in the process they enjoy learning
Irrational person incapable of growth: "God done it. Stop asking questions. Don't question, don't doubt, don't think. Obey god or burn in hell!"
It's stunning 90 million people didn't vote, but not surprising without the fostered intellectual capability.
we are our own biggest resource if we would just use it
Wonder what he'd think of the times we're in now.
FACT: 1yr prior to this video I did a 3rd grade science fair of Cancer of the Breast .. I got honorable mention 😒😑.. a volcano 🌋 won

She doesn't deny his proficiency in science. That's not the point.
What is your point?
Don't need any "counter argument" either. You're not an inteviewer and I'm not being interviewed.
Are you offended by my lack of interest?
🤣
The jury's still out on #2. But either way--11K views? Why?? Confused.
I raised my three kiddos in exactly this spirit.
"The universe is a pretty big place .If it's just us, seems like an awful waste of space."

Then something happened, and baseball caps got put on backwards, and people started shouting into microphones to sledge hammer kick drums and pre record pop, then reality TV showed up.
It's a shame that I was not encouraged in the way that Sagan describes here. When I see my friends talk w/their kids and encourage them, it gives me hope.
I think we are catching up by using the 2x playback speed to listen nowadays. It’s why you tube has some of his best clips. Just have to listen at 2x

I told her I didn’t hear a problem. She went on to say,
“He really cared about following the lines and coloring every block.”
I told her I still didn’t hear a problem.
(I mean .. what??)
Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Plato, Charles Darwin, Noam Chomsky, Bertrand Russell, Stephen Jay Gould, EO Wilson - just to name a handful.
There is nothing more satisfying than seeing a child become interested in science and learning. Our survival depends on future generations of scientists, engineers, doctors, etc.
instead too many young ones into adulthood are shunned or scolded. scolded.
I so agree, education is a joke now 😞
One of the only saving graces for the USA is that most other Western nations are just as bad, and China is even worse.

My late parents would say let's look it up. And I recall being mesmerized and lost in not only the answer but spending time reading the encyclopedia!
Rockefeller and/or via the GEB said basically that, back in the early 1900s.
Pushed Vocational Education only for Black students in the South, but comprehensive schools for Whites.
“attach the Negro to the soil and prevent his exodus from the country to city.”
I just didn't discourage her, and she is now starting programs in her ELEMENTARY school to get others interested.
Trust our kids to lead, teach them to lead, let them lead.
Then science goes by the wayside.
