If there ever was a job such as "Official Spokesperson for Tuberculosis", it certainly seems like you were destined for the role. It's inspiring how much work you do for the cause, but I hope that we do one day eliminate TB to the point where no one else needs to have such a title.

Louis was so heartbroken that he left Versailles and struggled for a time to focus on the emerging pressures of the Estates General. Of course, TB didn't cause the French Revolution (no one thing did!) but the human grief of losing a child amid national turmoil is a detail I'd never known.

TB really did effect so much. I watched an interesting video on TB and how it shaped societially held views on beauty, the TB look was all the rage. Women trying to be as thin as they could, act weak and look like they had the flush of death about them. Wild!

"Fun fact": there's a good chance they acquired tuberculosis of the bone through drinking raw milk, that was a very common source of tuberculosis in children (and thus young adults, if they lived long enough) before pasteurization was common.

I just pre-ordered your book. TB has been part of my family history. My Dad lost his mother when he was 11yo. He told us about the Fresh Air school he went to. I was still an infant when my aunt died at 18. I carry evidence of exposure in my lungs to this day. I look forward to reading the book.
