The furthest south I got into Mexico was Tijuana. But I feel the same way. Not planned but we have four Mexicans in our family. All of them are fine people. I don't know the other two the two I do know are just as wonderful. Love them.

I grew up in small-town Oregon and most of my friends growing up were second generation Mexican. It never registered to me that they were any different than me or anyone else in my town. It wasn't until I was an adult and away from my hometown that I started seeing the hatred and discrimination.

In the eighties I was controller for a restaurant in Longwood Gardens. We had many employees from Mexico and Central America. They were such good people, so kind. I used to help them negotiate paperwork for healthcare. When I left they told me I was like their sister. Treasured memory.

The county I've lived in all my life is 55% Hispanic/Latino and 27% White. I was raised with, went to school with and worked with Mexicans. I have always appreciated them. I live in an older mixed race neighborhood and I could not pick better neighbors. I will never understand hate toward them.

I've had the same experience with the Mexican people. My late husband was part Mexican and sadly due to the unwarranted prejudice against them he never embraced that part of himself. I tried to help him see that he should be proud of his Mexican heritage but he just couldn't. How sad for him. 😔💔

Spent 6 weeks in Mexico in early 80s. Warm & welcoming people, everywhere we went. They wouldn't take money for anything. I resorted to hiding 💰 under pillows and lamps in our room as we were leaving, with a card saying Gracias, you're the best!

I lived in an apartment complex with a lot of Latino families. They were always friendly and polite and it was wonderful to see the families playing with their kids at the complex's playground (I wasn't married yet at the time). Just really nice people.

U.S. citizen who immigrated to Mexico 2.5 years ago. This is the happiest I’ve been in my life. Wonderful people and culture, beautiful scenery, fantastic food. Mexicans have lovingly welcomed me here, much better treatment than they might receive from the US!

I have noticed an anecdoteal chilling of the Mexican/central american population where I grew up. It breaks my heart. The impromptu farmer's markets and food vendors etc have shrunk at least from public facing view. The places where they congregated are being deprived of oxygen

Living 35 miles from the border, I can tell you the ONLY time I have been harassed, was by a black man. I have walked amongst Hispanic construction workers w/o a word! They have earned every single job here.
