Yes! Gunpla is amazing and so accessible! Be careful though, so easy to get more & more - doubly so if you're watching the shows like me & my boyfriend did 😅
Oh gosh. 😱 Thankfully most of the shows are a great time so it's difficult to go wrong. The original stuff holds up great, and there are enough Gundam shows for everyone to have their own favorites.
I built & painted this HG from Iron-Blooded Orphans recently and am super pleased with it.
Honestly I am pretty new to it but it all starts with a vision. Then I clean up the parts, give each part some primer/surfacer, use my desired colors (and maybe mask off areas if they need several colors), and then topcoat.
I'm learning as I go which has been very fun, even if it's a slow process. I use an airbrush and lacquer paints (use a respiratory mask, even with acrylics!)
This was my first painted kit, the High Grade Jesta, which I made it as a gift for a friend.
Real Grade is a real sweet spot for me right now. My tiny Korean apartment can only fit so much, so RG is enough work to keep me busy for a while but I still only have a 1/144 figure at the end. I do love Master Grade, but it will have to wait. I've yet to attempt Perfect Grade but I do own one..
The Nu Gundams are fantastic and always a head above the rest.
(They are hecking tall. I recommend the MK2 or maybe a federation suit? I like to recommend the iron blooded orphans lineup but it's hit or miss for people)
