It’s so inspiring to see the grit and patriotism by our federal workers on Reddit. Be sure to visit and post both your support and thanks. They’re proving stronger than our media and corporations.
Right! Every contract that I’ve seen when I’ve been hired, state that it is an “at will” job. Meaning you can quit whenever you want, and they can fire you whenever they want, without cause.
All of the MAGA replacements stealing these jobs aren't going to go quietly once the regime ends - it will mean decades of these assholes in these positions
As a private citizen, how in the hell does Musk even have access to this? I guess buying an election and having a bogus agency created just for him provides him with powers which prior to this would've been against the law.
The first step of autocracy is to crack down on dissidents, control the media, worship leaders, shout great slogans, and do the most evil things. People who love freedom and justice need to rise up and resist.
I don't believe they care about legalities based on what they have been doing all day. We have no one, it seems, that will stop them. I fully expect the Trump White House to violate a court order soon and dare anyone to do anything about it.
He’s going to keep doing whatever the hell he wants. Until he runs into an obstacle. And that probably won’t happen until November 2026 midterms when hopefully the country by majority vote, flips the House of Representatives blue 💙 and hands the democrats congressional majority. TIL then 👇
Dump is in amber of his own signature.PRO25 knows this. They will put anything in front of him and he will sign it...our lives are in danger of White inferior old men...not DEI.
And for heaven sakes, when Elon Musk sends you an email about quitting or retiring realize that man has absolutely no power to speak for any government agency. He bought Trump not the United States. Ignore Musk's emails
Who is left to enforce our laws? Our justice system has already decided that Trump, his congressional accomplices, and our Supreme Court justices are above the law.
Hi—just here to offer hope. My partner is in law school and they had a guy from high up in the DOJ come talk to them after the election. He said that leadership has come and gone but they have always been committed to fighting for justice—
For real! I truly wish these folks would just say no. Like we are supposed to be doing! Like, “no, I don’t know my neighbors” and “no, I have no idea sis and so’s kid is trans” on and on…
In countless homes across America a great fear and trepidation hangs like a dull toxic cloud.
Talk to each other. Unite

Exactly, once they have resigned, they are screwed. He can't fire, but he damn straight wouldn't pay the severance pay. Straight from Muskrat's playbook.
Trump has NO MANDATE. only 49% of americans voted for him. So STOP THIS GITMO CONCENTRATION CAMP. STOP THE ICE RAIDS. STOP THE TARIFFS. FORCE TRUMP TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE AIRLINE CRASH THAT KILLED 67 PEOPLE. FORCE TRUMP TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE MILLION HE KILLED DURING COVID. JUNTA!!!
Probably why Elon’s people have taken over the OMB & put sleeper sofas in the office—after locking out OMB staff from server access. 🤬 WTAF. This is bad. https://omb.gov now goes to the White House landing page with an ominous picture of the 🍊💩head…
This is Federal wide (includes Defense) this is extremely dangerous for National Security. Air Traffic Controllers are nothing compared to no Civilians present to maintain Aircraft to avoid bombing on US soil.
If the fire you you get unemployment and you sue them and get your job back and back pay if you resign you get nothing because after you resign in writing he will renige on the deal how could people be so stupid?
My brother works for the VA, when we talked about the buyout, he said, "It wouldn't get me out of debt and I'd still have to go find another job. What's the point?" One of his coworkers is retiring soon, so 8 months early sounds good to him.
Tell him to tell his friend that taking the “buyout” is job abandonment, not retirement. You can’t quit going to work because somebody who’s not your supervisor suggests it. He’ll lose his whole retirement.
A lot of the people he works with are, if not full MAGA, Trump supporters and voters. We are in a world where people need to learn stoves are hot by touching a burner before believing us. I say let them touch the burner.
How bad does he want his coworker to get burned? Digging into fine print, anyone who accepts the offer “acknowledges” their position shd be eliminated. How long b4 Musk says that’s a confession to theft by taking a paycheck for unnecessary work & uses Treasury hack to seize their accounts?
The answer is before every Trump supporter.
"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free"
What don't you get about this? YOU are the problem, not us.
This is what average people are "hearing". Don't be surprised if most choose not to "fight":
"You can leave now with a bit of a payoff, or you can stay and we will make your worklife a living hell and do everything we can to make sure you can't find another job. Your choice."
Nixon would have been prosecuted for the same without the pardon. Nixon's offenses were on a much smaller scale.
What exactly are we going to do about it?
It's not like we can rely on the courts nor will republicans follow court orders.
Nixon's offending stacked against all that T***p has done pale in comparison. Pumpkin head makes Tricky Dick look like Mr Rogers.
My real concern for this current term how much T***p will try to weaponize our Justice Dept for his own personal satisfaction, knowing how pissed the rest of us will be.
Republicans promised retaliation and retribution for four plus years, they have overplayed their hand.
Trump has now proven he is above the law and a security threat as stated by numerous national security experts.
Anyone who takes him out will be acquitted as long as they claim patriotism.
We've known for ages that T***p thinks he's above our laws; it makes me sick knowing he keeps getting away with so much lawlessness. History books will write that many Americans hated our country so much they voted a felon for our Whitehouse.....twice.
I hope he can be removed judicially.
Exactly. They can keep trying but it’s not going to work. I believe in my agency’s mission and the security of this nation. I’m gonna keep doing my best and let them try to fire me. I dare them to try.
The first step of autocracy is to crack down on dissidents, control the media, worship leaders, shout great slogans, and do the most evil things. People who love freedom and justice need to rise up and resist.
It would appear that Trump intends to rob the Justice Dept. and the FBI of all institutional knowledge of Trumps crimes. This has the added benefit of Trump to resuming his march toward Empire.
I believe their next attempt will be a Discontinued Service Retirement.
Eliminate the position and if you turn down a "reasonable opportunity", you're out.
*did FedImpact webinar, there's a path but it's challenging for legal/national security reasons.

IF this is true and IF they offered a VERA that changes things. I wasn’t in the office today so I will see on Monday when I get in. I don’t trust anything at this point.
Oh I appreciate it. I would be VERA eligible in August. I feel like it will come again because the credibility is shot now. I appreciate you sharing this.
This doesn’t pass the test for me. The CR runs out on 14 March. There is no payout which is fine but still sounds shady. I’m holding out. They’ll offer it again.
I've been in the game for 15 years and refuse to back out. I know my role. It's important for both the public and the local economy. Staying is, in a way, my form of on the job resistance. Grateful to be covered by a union contract as well.
The first step of autocracy is to crack down on dissidents, control the media, worship leaders, shout great slogans, and do the most evil things. People who love freedom and justice need to rise up and resist.
Stop thinking of this in terms of a presidency. This is an OCCUPATION. We need to act accordingly. Things are happening VERY quickly. Start preparing if you haven’t.
A vast majority of workers are career and NOT in a union. Once you are career it takes more effort to fire you. Must Show cause. Excepted service can be fired without incident. attorneys also fall in this category, but it’s usually high lvl policy/investigator etc
For those to whom this post applies, remember, we need you to stay. Under the best circumstanses, it will take awhile to get to you. Do what you need to keep your job till then. Swear loyality to the buffoon then gum up the works in small ways. It all helps.
Was this fiasco just Musk going rouge? This is reminiscent of what he did at Twitter to significantly cut heads and create the cesspool of X… this is what they are driving to do to make our government a cesspool in which they will abuse and grift!
im focused. who’s going to stop it from happening? there’s no resistance to trump no one is going to stop him. leon isn’t even an elected official and he holds more power than elected democrats
Who are horrible people? The government employee's that Trump is trying to remove from their jobs? Jobs that they've had for years...No the horrible people are the ones running Washington right now, those are the horrible people.
And the proper legal channels to do so. Not everyone needs to go through legal channels but department heads can't just be fired at will. He knows he doesn't have the time, or the evidence to actually get them fired so he's hoping they are as easily bribed as he is.
We were not talking about a specific person. I assumed this post was in reference to the massive layoffs trump is attempting in federal positions. Was I wrong in that assumption?
I would also add. If they are trusting the felon in chief. They are a damn fool. If he threatens them. The threat will not stop after they comply. It will only get worse.
Sure, anyone they can get to openly resign is great, but it feels like they're trying to play clever, so they can start firing and call it resignations with "Oh, you didn't respond in time, so per the email that's an effective resignation" or "Your response of 'I don't resign' contained 'resign'"
and the email CLEARLY states that the word "resign" in the response is a resignation!
I wouldn't call it plausible deniability, or a legal fig-leaf, it's more juvenile feeling than that. Almost like a cross between a debate-bro and 'law is magic' sovcit.
Very few feds are taking this grift! Folks are seeing through it and are getting very pissed off. This fed is very happy to tell Musk to go intercourse himself!
That part ⬆
You quit when you have a job lined up, otherwise you wait for them to fire you, give you a severance package and collect unemployment.
You quit you aren't guaranteed severance, and you don't qualify for unemployment
LET THEM FIRE YOU
You don't quit at all and you stand your ground to protect this country up until they drag you out. He's not targeting normal employees, he's targeting federal employees whose job it is to hold him accountable. He's hoping everyone is as corrupt as him and he can buy them out before resorting

Send the fed employees the renewed contracts
Trump will process your government “resignation” and delay or change the terms of your payments.
Trump can just issue an executive order to end the resignation plan.

When Musk acquired Twitter in 2022, he sent a similar mass email to Twitter employees... also entitled “Fork in the Road”... soliciting resignations.
Last year, former employees sued the multi-billionaire for allegedly reneging on severance payments!
Make them actually do the job, and help the AMERICAN people.
What a concept! 🤷♀️🤦♀️🤔
You quit, we lose.
Stay. Fight. Do no evil.

Consider likely Trump intends to be an emperor.
In literary terms Trump has crossed the Rubicon.
Thank you but us government workers all have already seen the worst.

OPM has multiple tools available to"encourage" retirement.
Short version- agencies now have wider latitude to adjust age, service requirements.
Trump could rug pull this.

Be careful. 💕
Everyone should be fighting back anyway they can.
Don’t resign, make them fire you.
Make them work arduously.
Every active act of resistance will impede their efforts.
