Ask if they are going to tolerate or fight Donald Trump and his hate driven racism and intolerance towards women and minorities?
We just tried to pass it in Idaho - got enough signatures to get it on the ballot but it didn't pass. Now the republican pukes are trying to change the rules about what we have to do to get stuff on the ballot.
Australia has had what you call rank choice and we call preferential voting for over 100 years. Means you have to hold the centre. We also have compulsory voting.
The state has to approve it. The state is solidly right wing. Same with Kansas. I'd love to see it get through, but hey, KS can't even get Medicaid expansion, one of the last holdouts.
I’m Kansas side of KC, but Missouri passed Amendment 7 which explicitly banned ranked choice voting — under the guise of disallowing non-citizens to vote… which has been the law for years.
Missouri isn't solidly right wing, they just have 90% of the population gated off in teo congressional districts to prevent us from actually making choices against the dirt.
One of the cool things that happens in Missouri and Kansas is that we do have ballot measures, but the state congress can still just overturn it for no reason.
Just proves RCV is a good way to go, bc the crazy states want to hide it from us. Keep up the good fight for RCV and breaking free from 2-party tyranny✌🏾
It was on the ballot in Missouri this past election, but it was written in a way that didn't give it a fair chance. Non-citizens are already barred from voting.
The authors knew the conservatives would eat up that first line and not give it a second thought.
We also, somehow, managed to pass the right to abortion and the removal of the state ban as a constitutional amendment, but there are people fighting it.
They just made the illiterate vote to ban this because they used a very misleading headline on the ballot, which was already true because you have to be a citizen to vote.
Alaska proved Ranked Choice Voting works—now let’s supercharge it. FiNC champions RCV and other flexible voting methods to give Americans better choices and a stronger voice.

They BANNED ranked choice voting in November. Got the folks to vote against their best interests. The year before they got voters to overturn the fair redistricting plan with a constitutional ammendment, so gerrymandering is the law of Missouri
Just get rid of the electoral college, computers that musk or anyone can hack. Go back to hand ballots in a box.. hand counting w/ 2 people viewing each ballot ( 1 gop, 1 dem) takes way longer but basically hack free.. GA & AZ did it in the recount of 2020 and it worked
In Australia we call it preferential voting and along with compulsory voting (which prevents great swathes of people being taken off rolls), it’s helpful in stopping the lunatic fringe 95% of the time.
Same in KS. We would definitely be a purple state if we weren't so gerrymandered. The map looks ridiculous. They go to extreme measures to make sure any blue districts are diluted by the ruby red rural ones.
Gerrymandering has nothing to do with how your state votes for President, senators, or governor. Your state picked Trump on a straight popular vote basis. Three times.
It does, however, affect the state government which has a more day to day effect on folks.
The most insanely frustrating thing about living here is having liberal policies (Marajuana, Amd. 3, etc) be popular but then everyone votes in republicans because of gerrymandering.
It's the same in NC. Just look at went down with Alison Riggs and the NC Supreme Court. When they lost the governor's race due to Robinson, who still got 40% of the vote, the folks went crazy.
We got conned into banning fair districts. We have a ballot clarity law that lets the secretary of state set the language that appears on the ballot after an allegedly nonpartisan review so they made the language confusing, snuck it on the ballot and voila.
Same boat here, but I am trying anyway. For one thing, look how awesome my district is! My logo is a map of my district 🦆 I ran last year with zero experience. I don’t have much more experience now but I’m ready for 2026. Read Dirt Road Revival and join a campaign!
This state is corrupted by these morons. My county is brimming with people who get their news from FascBook. It feels so hopeless because we're isolated in rural areas. We need to get organized and ready for the backlash in case these people figure out they've been terminally conned.
The alternatives are just to sit back and watch it burn or scream into the void. Hope isn't lost, and we need to be ready in case we get some unexpected allies.
same in texas. there's a decent democratic faction that is growing, but repubs have gerrymandered so hard it's virtually indestructible. it's absolutely maddening.
Blue dot in red MO. Also massive Chiefs fan. The game is in LA so the northern grid will just hurt blue states. If the grid goes down they switch to US grid which means more coal burned, prices go up & some disruptions. Trump would probably watch blue states hurt like he watched J6 unfold on tv.
Good to know. Didn't even know if it was a possibility. Whole situation is just terrible, and I do wish the best for #Canada and #Mexico because they didn't ask for this. #Tariffs suck.
I agree & if I thought it would cripple these red states I'd say unleash the dragons & light em up. It would be mainly the states bordering from WA to NY, NE, MN, IL, ND, WI, IL, OH. BUT let that many states miss the Superbowl and it could get real testy. My household would lose their minds lol
They did. The blackout isn't a real possibility, but it seems like a fun way to torture a lot of people - especially the "Bros" who voted for this monster.
Thank you for supporting freedom over sportsball. I'm ashamed of my country thinking puckwhacking record chasing is more important than genocide. I love sports. Played 25 years of contact ball and coached over 40 teams aged 4 to adult.
I mean, by Trump's logic, there must be a fuse box up there somewhere and if they just flip the switch (like turning on a faucet), they can shut off our power, right?
Awesome idea. It's always best to hit them where they are most vulnerable!! Even if they just do it for the day in order to say "See what we can do HOSER....eh!?"
Unfortunately, not all of us US citizens are bad shit crazy. Politics 24 seven, and none of it good, being able to relax for a couple hours and watch the Super Bowl, with no politics involved, is something I’m looking forward to.
Actually it’s not going to kill anyone, nor interrupt the SB, if Canada shuts down power to the US, they’ll just pull that lost power from elsewhere; but it will definitely cost more.
I still think joking like this is just as stupid as MAGA talking about how they'll come take it and all that other rhetoric that no one cares about until it's government policy. we're learning nothing.
I'm at that point to be honest. It's hard to not rant absolutely sideways about all this. Decent humans unite, we have to endure some shit but we will prevail.
I do worry that would be all the impetus they need to declare an emergency action to "secure critical American infrastructure" and start the war though.
This is funny and all until you consider the way domestic abuse reports skyrocketed the night of the superbowl because of that commercial that made it look like the channel had gotten changed. The only one who would be hurt by them doing that is the wives and families of the super fans watching.
Ya, Canadians don't find this even a little bit funny. This is why we just may do this, and judging from your bio, you use our electricity where you live in NYC. Enjoy the cold and dark. Let's see if you find that funny
He was a great Canadian and he would flick that switch himself if he were alive today to do it. Tough as nails and he would be just as pissed off as the rest of us.
I dunno WAYNE SUPER MARIO MESSIER CROSBY a lot of Canadian hockey players are RWers. They must love the tax cuts and deregulation of businesses they might have stake in .
Agree that would be something. The Orangeman dont even know what relationship we have with Canada and that it goes both ways as far as the need. Someone is pulling these strings bc he knows nothing.

Will they make a stand?
I'd love to watch it because I'm an #Eagles fan - but this is more important!

Because we all know why red states are gerrymandering to the extreme that they do.
Archaic voting methods protect the status quo. That's why FiNC's strategy is to #BypassEstablishment, not fight them head-on.

MAGA is powerful, and I don't think the average voter understands the value of ranked choice voting.

Like people in blue states should have no issues while power to the rest of the states is off.
Sorry Kdot.
Nope. Try the Northeast and California. All blue.
And Kansas?
I'm not, btw, but if I was, I'd still support it.
These tariffs make no sense and the #MAGA cult needs to feel a disproportionate amount of pain on this.
I say cut the power Canada. 🇨🇦
Is the Superbowl being played in Canada or something this year?
Yours sincerely
The rest of the world.
