This is how Google/FB/Apple maps have always worked. Disputed regions are named by the government for that locale. Just look at the islands off Hokkaido in Russia/Japanese locale, or India/Pakistan for Kashmir, or a bunch of the middle east

Feels like a slippery slope issue. Taken alone, despite being annoying/stupid, I technically can't blame Google, this one is on the people who voted for 45 or didn't vote.
