The only problem with the importation for The StoryGraph is if you have a library over 10,000 books it will not import and I dislike that about the app, Fable I was able to no problem it just took like 15 minutes to import

If concerned about ai, I would implore you to look into the use of ai by Amazon. Generative ai in particular.

StoryGraph are very pro-genAI, have given interviews in which they talk about training LLMs on StoryGraph user data, and are evasive about what kind of data that is. The opt-out is only for seeing the generated summaries, not for preventing your user data from being used in their LLM :(

Yeah, even this is more like "this book is rated highly by people who like x, y, and z, and you like a, b, x, and y" pattern-matching than the scrape-and-recombine type AI. I don't bother with Good Reads - don't think it's that great & it's owned by Bezos. Would recommend Five Books - their suggestions are usually very good.
