I built a portable Xbox.
This isn't a PC handheld, it isn't emulation, this is a real motherboard from a real Xbox. It has a 9” 480p display, pure digital video/audio, 100W USB C charge and play, and I'm currently adding WiFi 6 for wireless Xbox Live functionality.
Yes, really.

Years ago I was drooling at portable Nintendo 64 but to see how far people have come with this stuff is impressive.
At its heart is a trimmed original Xbox motherboard, enabling it to be fully compatible with the entire Xbox library with no exceptions. (Yes, even Steel Battalion if you have a controller)
With this build what you see is what you get.
I wrote an Xbox trimming guide (That is publicly available!), and along the way I had to do reverse engineer nearly the entire board.
And the Xbox trimming guide here:

And I am working on a short showcase video now. :)
I love it! 😂
Great job tho 🔥
That OG xbox UI was amazing.
I gotta see it in action!
I've seen portable Wii projects that fit inside of an Altoids tin. It's called the "Kill Mii".
Perhaps... Xbox 180?
God i love gaming projects like this
"off"
and
"destroy"
Really cool project though and looks awesome
Wondering if that's why they went with the tiny 480p screen too
Jokes aside, very cool, well done, and huge cudos on sharing how to do it!
Gotta preserve and revive our beloved retro consoles
