Here in California there were maybe a few thousand at the protest at the Capitol in Sacramento last Wednesday. Relative to a million people living in the Sac area alone, and with 6 million more in the Bay Area 100 miles away, not very impressive.
It may not be one massive demonstration but many constant, relentless protests that add up to a movement too big to ignore. I wouldn’t be surprised if they instigated violence & declared martial law for more control. They seem capable of anything. I'm very disappointed in the US press at the moment

Yes, if you protest during work hrs, violate company policies, or damage your employer’s reputation. Private employers can fire at will. But off-the-clock, peaceful protests are generally protected. Know your rights beforehand, but employers might try anyway.
Honestly for whatever reason 1/3rd the country doesn’t believe it’s happening, another third doesn’t do anything thinking they can’t and the last third is desperately trying to hold out and make awareness.
Actually it’s more like this:
1/3 of the country thinks what’s happening is great;
1/3 of the country doesn’t care about what’s happening and feels they can’t do anything about it anyway; and
1/3 of the country is sounding very loud alarm bells but very few are actually listening.
For the second 1/3 group, I would also add that in that group are the people that believe no one should say or do anything that could harm, disrupt, or end relationships with friends or family.
