There's a fundamental misunderstanding that Trump's tariffs are bad because they'll raise prices. That's true. But more importantly the business environment is going to become markedly more inhospitable. Margins will shrink, models will collapse along with demand and bankruptcies will soar.

Voting for this has to be the most flagrant unforced error of the electorate in my lifetime. We had an economy that was the envy of the developed world coming out of COVID. Near miraculous soft landing unlike any others. Yet 77M voters thought this brain-damaged Neanderthal would do a *better* job.

Americans will always have goodwill, respect and more than a little awe from a lot of Canadians. All well-earned. You guys TRY THINGS. We're simply more reserved and parsimonious in spirit, for better or often worse. Ideally, it's a good partnership. But this... will be a real rough patch.

The truth is most people here didn't believe any of this could happen. Those who voted for him because of money believed the levies of law would stop him when he went to far, those who voted against him simple doubted he would do anything at all. Those who love him will just blame everyone else.
