This is from my friend, Nabil, in Gaza today. He says there is NO food left. He has never sounded so in despair. Israel is carrying out war crimes; violating international humanitarian law; inflicting collective punishment on a captive people; trying to starve them into submission. It’s obscene.

No; they closed the border just before they could leave, and they’ve been trapped ever since. Nabil’s daughter entered hospital last week with acute malnutrition. They are slowly wasting away. Thank you so much for your support and engagement.

Oh, I’m so sorry, Alex. I have one friend who has lost 59 members of his extended family, fortunately he doesn’t really know most of them as he was born in Canada, but his mother who’s 84 is absolutely devastated.

Oh my gosh. That is absolutely horrific. Nabil lost 12 members of his family in the first weeks of the war; another few haves died since then. He’s desperately trying to keep alive his own immediate family. The fundraiser last year was a huge contribution to their survival so far.

As a former war crimes prosecutor I agree with you & with the 800+ KC’s, Barristers, Solicitors, legal academics & former UK judges who wrote to the PM, Israel has/is committing war crimes, crimes against humanity, breaches of international humanitarian law & in all likelihood genocide too.
