I am more impressed every day. Pete Buttigieg is the kind of person who makes a difference. Even made me learn to pronounce/spell his last name. Walz is a good candidate but a Harrison Buttigieg ticket might just be the ticket.
I adore this guy! He is so incredibly intelligent, kind, well spoken, and heβs going to be our president some day and we will be so blessed ππ₯°π
oh wait is that bribery is he bribing people to vote for him in the next election? Iβm surprised the Republicans are not calling him out for bribing your votes
Now if only we had high speed rails and better transportation infrastructure that doesn't cater to automobile manufacturers and oil tycoons. Snacks are nice. It's almost like when our bosses host pizza parties instead of giving raises. Super thoughtful.
I'm taking amtrak next month to see my fourth grandchild newborn. He's due on Jan 31st, I'm arriving on the 26th. Looking forward to seeing our country in this manner! AL to Tucson, AZ!
Do you mean the 66 billion dollars from the IIJA that has been secured for passenger rail upgrades, including the first high speed rail line that Pete broke ground on over a month ago? Thank you Biden & Pete
Love him! Id vote for him as President! Before they decided on Kamala to run, I was hoping it would be Pete! He truly seems like a great guy! We need MORE politicians like him!
I really like Buttigieg. He's young, progressive and a great speaker. He's one of the exciting politicians in the Democratic party. I hope the old folks on the left don't knee cap him.
He would make a great President. Hope the country wakes up someday and will elect him. He is brilliant. He brings the fact in a calm intelligent way. Only clips of Fox I can watch are Pete B shutting down the lies.
I want to see Elizabeth Warren as president, Buttigieg as VP, and AOC in basically any staff position she chooses until she is ready to take over after Mrs. Warren as the next president.
Dear Santa, if you deliver on this I will never ask for another thing and won't pee in the chimney no more.
Dems, can you plz give this man a more major and up front roll in the party! We need him and folks like him to take the party into a new and fresh direction.
An old white man on his death bed thanks in huge part to old ass Nancy Pelosi. I'm a hardcore Democrat but I'm beyond pissed and disillusioned with our current "leadership." Long past time to CLEAN HOUSE.
Lived in Dallas when Cuban founded broadcast dot com; a friend of mine worked there for a bit. Said Cuban was a total asshole. This is true of most tech founders, of course; maybe mellowed in the past 30 years. But, I struggle to view him as altruistic. He got lucky when Yahoo overpaid for his biz.
Let me guess... He didn't ask anyone about their vote or party affiliation before handing them a snack. We need more people like Pete B. & less people like Hair Gropenfuhrer Mango Assolini.
Just being a normal, level headed, intelligent human being makes him stand out in the madness of US politics at present. Trump and his collection of oddballs would look more at home in a Star Wars bar than a serious cabinet.
I suggest everyone look up his record as Mayor. He talks good but was just another puppet of developers when he was mayor. He was responsible for a lot of gentrification.
It's too bad America can't accept a brilliant, courageous gay man of integrity who served his country with honor as President, because it's pretty apparent he's got what it takes to be a good one.
Isnβt it tragic that a brilliant man like this that would make a fantastic president canβt because heβs gay. Thatβs why Harris lost. She was a woman and she was black. We have a racist, bigoted, misogynist, anti-LGBT country.
Harris ran ~2pts behind down-ballot women, BIPOC, and BIPOC women Dems. They were *on the same ballot* and got more votes, which potentially invalidates βmisogynyβ and βracismβ as the decisive factors.
Peteβs favorability polls ahead of nearly all Dems.
Coalitions have shifted. A lot of demographics are very voting very differently than in years past, including union members, but the thing to remember is that roughly 1/4 of people who turn out for presidential elections have *never* voted before. The winner wins with that group.
Two people I want to see running the DNC. Number one the head of the DNC I want to be Ben Wikler. Heβs the one that turned Wisconsin around. Heβs been on TV now explaining his vision Iβm there for it. The other person running for vice chair is David Hogg. He has galvanized the youth movement.
They have no idea who is gay in the government. So they are voting for them, but they keep it a secret. I have a gay niece and a gay nephew, and I love them both so much. They are both very successful people and loved by everybody.
They are such hypocrites & willing to vote against their own interests as long as people they donβt like are worse off. Also, I bet theyβd be shocked how busy gay hook up apps are during every Republican conventionβ¦.
I was a Michigan State Delegate back in the days where the Levin brothers were in DC. At the convention we had a big meeting in the auditorium. After it emptied out I decided to take a look back in there. And there was Sander Levin on his own cleaning the auditorium. Service is baked into some.
Theres been talk from him of possibly running in 2028 or even as a governor in 2026..either way, he'd be amazing as either. But if he runs in 2028, he has my entire support..it'd be an amazing and welcome change.
So far polls have been all BS and wrong! Therefore, the same shitty POLLS who say he cannot win could be wrong! I am looking for a day to see him as POTUS!
There's no way. The American public are just not decent enough. Half our rickety coalition would stay home at the mere mention of a gay president, while the opposition party could just run on putting him in a death camp and win the entire midwest.
Whatβre we going to lose more? We lost twice to Trump for god sake & country gonna be a heaven for billionaires! Average American should either choose a potus whoβs come from heart of the public (even gay), or wound up w/ another billionaire to further ruin their life! In fact, my ticketβs PETE/AOC!
Yes. Decency and good policy will not attract the lowest common denominator that now determine who wins elections. The voting majority are so utterly revolting, that they chose a walking hemorrhoid like Trump while he promised to ruin millions of lives. A good person like Pete stands no chance.
I wonder if Pete ran instead of Kamala if he would be president right now?? I wonder the same about Gavin... I wonder about a lot of things. Mostly, I wonder how I'm going to get through the next 4 years and if America will survive as a democracy and the planet as a viable home.π₯΄
Servant leadership is true leadership! In a country full of power greedy politicians posing as leaders, Pete refreshingly demonstrates what true leadership for the people looks like. I will miss him the next couple of years but canβt wait to see whatβs the next role for him after that!
"Mayor Pete" is a ladder climber. Everything is a photo op. He is many things, but he is certainly not a "man of the people."
What is his position on healthcare? What is his position on the minimum wage? What is his position on war? Most of all, what is his position on corruption?
I can't speak to all of it, and we should evaluate this all again in a future presidential run, but in his prior campaign, he advocated "Medicare for All Who Wanted It" which seems like a smart play for recognizing that some folks want their private health care...
I think that a gradual glacier race to single payer is idiotic at best. Our for-profit system kills people, not excluding conservatives and their families.
Americans, regardless of partisanship, do not like their insurance companies. They just loathe some individual carriers more than others.
I have come around to this way of thinking... For sure, the campaign of 2020 or 2024 makes no sense in the world cycle. In the context of Pete's 2020 primary campaign, it made a lot of sense. I agree that his return to the national stage requires embracing populist change.
Pete would make for a great POTUS.. He is highly educated, down to earth, able to make Fox hosts run to the bathroom and cry, intelligent, able to address all Americans with words of wisdom and facts...The question is. Is America able to accept a gay family man?
James Buchanan was the only president who was a "confirmed bachelor" & his very close male friend was an open secret at the time. He's just been str8washed.
The CIA? He was a intell officer in the Navy Reserves, hardly the same thing. Come on, Magats are the conspiracy nuts we're supposed to be the sensible ones.
You sound exactly like the religious nutbags proclaiming the end of the world every time there's an out of the ordinary event of some kind. This time is no better or worse than any other.
Yeah. I'd like to see this whole "Intelligent/Forthright/Kind" vibe spread throughout our office holders instead of the Dumb/Dishonest/Mean wave I see creating on the horizon...

He has everything he needs
Too late now...

*confused republican noises*
Perhaps! π

And probably hoping for another Rittenhouse.
James Buchanan, the confirmed bachelor with the very close male friend. Open secret, y'know?

I like Buttigieg.
I like kale chips.

I think in time, if we have the courage to establish an open single-payer system open to the masses that folks will eventually be won over.
Americans, regardless of partisanship, do not like their insurance companies. They just loathe some individual carriers more than others.
Ew.
Hes a minion.
Lack of meaningful policies.
Inability to cross people in power in the Democratic party.
The fact he kneeled and joined the anti Bernie coalition despite Bernie having momentum amongst voters.
I will never trust anyone who chooses power and corporatism over the people.

Don't be fooled, he thrived while working in the CIA for a reason.
You can't eliminate human greed without eliminating humans.
Deserves your vote and support.
