Ok. Good. And what happens with those institutions educating less privileged people and thus doing an extremely important work and that don’t have wealthy donors?
and people power to damage the powers behind the throne who wrote the orange morons mandate, or at the least do them so much financial damage they never recover. coors, koch, uline, tripp lite, variety wholesalers ( roses, maxway, super10) they all threw money at the manifesto.
This is a virtuous cycle - donor support will increase Harvard's ability to withstand the bullying from #Trump which in turn will generate more donor support.
And if you were going to apply to a university, would you pick one which folded quickly to a bully or which put up a strong defense?
Harvard didn't prevent Elise Stefanik or Tom Cotton from becoming their very best MAGA selves. Guess Harvard's just not all that good at the woke/antisemitic/DEI indoctrination that seems to rile up Trump & Fox State News so much.
I’m an alum and I’ve never considered donating. Still probably won’t - my donation wouldn’t be felt and I prefer to donate to mission-driven orgs fighting transphobia and racism - but I’m not unhappy they are doing this.
Educated people tend to lean towards progressivism to varying degrees, yet I'm sure whether it factors in or not depends whether they assimilated the knowledge or if they were just passed along the classes like a hot potato.
The Ivy’s tend to be outliers given the intergenerational wealth aspect. Yes the merit based scholars are more progressive but there’s a lot of old money in those halls.
Appropriation of “antisemitism” not primarily to protect Jewish students or ensure civil rights compliance, but to discipline liberal institutions under the guise of civil rights enforcement — and, arguably, to enforce a political agenda rooted in cultural grievance and white Christian nationalism
Now, if we could only get people to donate like this to causes like homelessness and hunger. The only reason I won’t send Harvard money is because I don’t support or donate to torture of animals under any circumstance. Someone mentioned PBS which I totally support 110%. Have for half a century.
I suspect the shortfall in donations to humanitarian causes is that you have predatory bastards parading poster children with cancer for marketing, then running off with the money. Like capitalist healthcare not being interested in actually ending cancer, fox charities not interested in ending need.
Outside of the US many of us are left with no choice to find non US based alternatives for digital services etc, for security reasons, but where we can we will support US businesses, institutions and non profits under attack by the White House.
The outside world can see what you are dealing with.
I just looked up a full list of European internet companies.
Your point about security is valid and hopefully we can rectify that.
Any ideas from marketing experts or advertising specialists
who have knowledge of selling online to other countries,
are appreciated.
I support everyone who puts country and constitution first. Fine print don’t matter anymore. We are in a constitutional crisis. I’m not even sure we recover.
Just for the record though Harvard has a gazillion dollars.
Please donate instead to the UNCF (United Negro College Fund) or AICF (American Indian College Fund) because they're getting their funds from US government pulled because, not white.
Even though it "only" tens of billions, I get your point and
support the listed suggestions. I understand if someone
attended college to support them; but the smaller colleges
don't have a chance if federal dollars are withheld.
There are also law firms like Elias Law group that need $
Marc Elias has been called out by the don because he's been
fighting for democracy and filing suits to uphold the
Constitution. https://Democracydocket.com has cases listed by State.
If a president takes time to demonize you by name on TV,
then obviously you're doing something to upset him.
Could it be the multiple lawsuits every time a law is broken or the constitution ignored? Marc said that he felt proud to be mentioned. 😏
When https://COVID.gov turned into this Administration's breitbart channel, it is clear to the whole world that once again, among other FAFO evidences, that America cannot be trusted.
Big 10 is taking the initiative. This must be so difficult for many institutions, but very apparent that this administration means to hamper the elevation of education for those of modest means. Time, again, for #GoodTrouble #TurnBlue

Why isn’t my Senator/Representative calling to impeach?
You swore to defend the Constitution.
We got a dictator problem.
The concentration camps are here.
Shout “Impeach!”
All together.
Every day.

What’s that mean?🤪
Mr. Takei. This is a Bluesky post. You are on Bluesky. You can just repost this instead of taking a screenshot.
