If a law firm can't stand up to Trump, they will cave for me, so I would never hire them! And if a university doesn't care about who teaches my kids, I won't pay to send them there!
May Day, May Day General Strike-5/1/25!
Shut it all down, unions wobble, airlines, manufacturing, retail, trucking, transportation, shipping! tRump, vAnts, johnson must resign.
It's not rare, it's just not showcased often. Negativity sells. Of course the people who are triple digit millionaires and billionaires won't show it because they don't have it. You're looking in the wrong places if your trying to find integrity from the ultra wealthy.
Integrity, morality, decency, honesty, fairness, and all things we try to teach our children seem to be falling out of civil society. I feel like I did my kids wrong when I raised them to have empathy. The people who succeed seem to be predators and wolves.
🥲💔 b/c I'm old enough to recall when taking a stance in response to social pressures flooding through the nation divided, wasn't nearly unusual, rare,or courageous. Rather in decades gone by,all academics would declare neutral integrity- as was expected. Pls StandUp for your principles,it's Not Hard.
My personal preference is to hit him so hard that he will never dare to abuse anyone ever again. All bullies are COWARDS and Shitler is a proven coward.
You are so right!!! That is exactly how to break down a sociopath. They hate to be challenged or confronted. Bullies back down. Just need more people w the cojones to do it.
It seems rather foolhardy to go after a school that can boast having four current Supreme Court justices as alumni. One would think that they might know a thing or two about Constitutional Law and government.
When the moment came, Harvard didn’t hedge or flinch—it stood up. A reminder that integrity isn’t complicated, it’s just rare.

All too rare !
Almost like hen teeth.
Harvard represents all of the uniquely American principles missing for 3 months and counting now…
Take a lesson, America.
No cooperation with tyrants. Ever.
They did actually kinda flinch as they were prepared to comply with the first round of demands. But nonetheless I'm very glad the finally put their foot down.
Trump is using Jews to further his vile racist policies. It’s making things worse than it already is for us. While it’s hard to be Jewish these days, we believe in the right to protest and due process.
Let's be honest...
Wonder why LAW FIRMS & UNIVERSITIES are COWERING TO 🍊🤡?
POWERFUL/WEALTHY PEOPLE'S SECRETS ARE DICTATING THEIR DECISIONS/ACTIONS!
It's pretty obvious to me that when DOGE has financial secrets & Xitter has social media secrets...
THAT'S A LOT OF FUCKING SECRETS IN ELON'S HANDS.
Meanwhile, the President of The Ohio State University, without talking to anyone first, to take the temperature, laid naked on the bed and said "Just TAKE me."
A big reason is that the demands were ridiculous even by Trump standards. I wish I’m wrong but I suspect had they steered clear of messing with Harvards hiring and acceptance policies the outcome would have been different. Forcing Harvard to resist was a gift.
They are all sociopaths. By definition, Republicans who support Trump are sociopaths. The definition of a sociopath is someone who has no conscience. They have no shame to act as a guardrail against their worst impulses.

I'm curious if those institutions who are bending the knees to 🍊💩 ever went to Harvard. Guess they failed in ethics, integrity, courage, & above all constitutional rule of law. 🤬
Silly me, I thought Americans loved tilting @ giants.
But definitely kudos to Harvard, & MIT which followed suit.
So once again the Revolution is starting up in the Boston area. Does it have to do with good seafood giving them gumption?
Ah, yes must be the cherrystone clams!
Yup, although I suspect it would be more accurate if those other figures were on the fascist podium with Lord Dampnut rather than bending the knee, but for purposes of maintaining complacency about the fascist threat, sure, close enough.
Let's not give Harvard too much credit. Weren't they considering cutting some kind of Columbia-style deal until the letter showed them just how far the regime wanted to take it?
It's easy to stand up when you have a $53B endowment. Where was Harvard when Columbia was being attacked by trump? Did they speak up, no. That is republican behavior; it's not a problem unless your affected. They could have easily stood up for their peer to defend their rights, they didn't.
When will people learn that you never give in to a bully or dictator? Giving in doesn't save you, it just sends a signal that you're open to getting abused more.
The only problem is that the image representing Claire Shipman should be an empty chair since she pretty much went into hiding the entirety of 2024 while her campus was being overrun and Jewish students were harassed and locked out of their classes while their professors were in the encampment
If everyone stood up to Trump he would back down. Those who bent the knee gave him power he wouldn't have otherwise. Sitting in the W.H. does not give him free rein if the country says no! Those law firms need to get off their knees, admit their mistake, and rejoin the side of the law.
You would think all these people would be done being bullied by Trump. Just tell dear leader to kindly fuck off. Bullies only stop bullying you when you show them it doesn't work anymore. If Harvard can do it so can everyone else.
absolutely support Harvard! but why oh why do they churn out right wing incompetent 'lawyers' ? i mean they're in Cambridge/Boston where intelligence & our system of government is valued. & yet so many of the corrupt & insurrectionist cheaters claim Harvard Law degrees. can't name them but u know.
For centuries Harvard has stood tall in the worlds of higher education and research now it is showing it has the courage and integrity to stand against the unjust policies of the orange stain.
Had the rest of the world responded to Trump's tariffs in the same way that Harvard and China have, America would be well on its way to choose a replacement President and vice-President.
Oh, so you guys voted for a loose cannon to become your leader for the second time, but it’s our fault he’s still wrecking the world economy??? Get your own 💩 together and don’t rely on the rest of the world to solve your problems.
As an Irish and EU citizen:
what the fork is this word salad supposed to mean.
We've responded by beginning the process of completely divesting ourselves of our reliance on Visa and Mastercard; we've started the process of issuing EU bonds because the US is unreliable now.
What are you on about?
I wonder if they would have stood up so fast without the example of Columbia, where bending the knee failed to get the money restored. I think it’s courage from experience.
The depth of dishonor, damage, failure, corruption, criminality, treachery & cruelty of this POTUS, VP & minions has no bottom. A stain on their families & our nation. A convicted felon with lifetime record of dishonor, bankruptcies & failed relationships is ruling USA, Sad! #ProtectTheConstitution🇺🇸
MIT was a no right from the beginning, as was Princeton. Harvard, I think, wished to cave but Trump asked for too much too soon; threatened the fellows' prerogatives; they realized you can't bargain with Trump. Some of the tech-bro trustees concocted a lobbying article in the NY Times but too late.
Yes, good for Harvard, after a fashion. They tried the appeasement thing first, though.
And it's not my habit to defend law firms, but they didn't all kneel. Perkins Coie, WilmerHale, Susman Godfrey, and Jenner & Block are fighting back. Let's not forget it.
George Takei, they took a KNEE to Islamic JIhadists. Read the IRGC-Hamas charter. Yeh-they finally did something. Good for them. They still help train and support terrorists and ANTI-WESTERN values.
Yes. Stand up

Courage is contagious
Indeed. But what a lot of people don’t realize is that Harvard has been making big efforts to support DEI and other diversifying efforts and truly make a difference for anyone smart enough to get in, enough so that they’ve been getting pushback from their alumni.
There are generally a lot of restrictions from donors on that money, but you're right. If any school has the ability to stand up and absorb the damage, it would be Harvard.
