Keeping track of companies that roll back DEI under pressure from conservative groups or the current administration. So, Yes means, yes, theyβve had a reversal. No means they havenβt. Companies in green have vocally defended DEI.
Committed means their DEI pages are still up in a meaningful way. Vocal defenders means theyβve spoken out about the importance of DEI to business success or their commitment to their programs OR that theyβve denied one of the conservative activists attempts to diminish their program, like COSTCO.
I'll most likely have to get a new car this year so the car makers' stances on all of this interest me. Honda's pages appear to still be up, but the content may be dated: https://csr.honda.com/
Thanks so much for sharing your work on this spreadsheet! So helpful and empowering to know that we can all speak with our wallets by spending our $ where companies share our values!
Good for you and thanks for doing this. It's not 2016. Go to reddit and vast majority are on board. Facebook and it's mostly detractors of Target but enough reply guys (and they are all guys) to muddy the picture. Here you can have a discussion about what to actually do on #Target et all.
Honestly, I really enjoyed working on it this weekend. It was something I could do that maybe makes a little difference or helps people feel more in control. A healthy place to funnel some of that doomscroll energy. I just hope Bluesky doesnβt think Iβm a spammer now π
Yes, Iβve been trying to settle myself into more useful activity too. Iβm still scattered and spinning my wheels. Finding traction is just going to take what it takes. Fingers crossed for ur spammer sitch. Bluesky doesnβt seem so sensitive abt it as other places areπ€π½π€π½
I was looking today, BJs hasnβt made an official statement but they pulled their βdiversityβ statement from their websites. I was tempted to ask when I picked up my orderβ¦ I am pretty stuck, where I live itβs Walmart/Samβs or Target so I hope they can keep it together.
I saw someone say earlier β supporting diverse-owned brands within these retailers (when possible!) is one way to make every dollar count. We can only make the best out of a difficult situation. π
This list is excellent. So all those companies that have overseas 'help' departments in places like India - this will be interesting to watch. If they reverse and still have online staff in places like India, then they're talking out of both sides of their mouths and can't be trusted.
Thank you! So confusing tho. Because there are republican contributors still doing DEI and left leaning places reversing. Hard to figure out where to shop anymore!
Which left leaning places were you thinking of? To be honest, I think these companies are facing a ton of pressure - even lawsuits - from the right, and adjusting their sites might be a way of trying to fly under their radar.
You may want to add Disney? I believe that they are not committed, but asked their shareholders to vote that as well. They own ABC, espn, and several other entities as well
Some items have been removed their page, but itβs still up. According to what I found, a conservative activist group pressured them, and their board declined. Sources in the doc.
I made a short link for it and graphic options, shared on IG and in my content creators against fascism IG channel and discord. Thank you for this excellent work! Shortlink: https://Bit.ly/corpdei
Thank you so much for the effort you are putting into making this info available and for backing it up with reliable sources. I have felt so frozen for the past week, and as odd as it may sound, finding this makes me feel better.

and Costco I thought stated that they will continue as they have with DEI in the past.
I also wonder about Menards?

any chance making this mobile friendly for when we're out and about and don't have our laptop with us?
I'm a small business of one but obviously I'm on the side of DEI, decency, multiculturalism, and all the things that make a business trustworthy.
I wrote this for all of us:
