What's a good 3-ingredient cocktail for midafternoon winter drinks? I'm thinking maybe old fashioneds. Most of the "afternoon drinks" suggestions I see on the web are way too summery. @needhibhalla.bsky.social @pracheeac.bsky.social

Black manhattans, especially with an amaro you like, might work. I make one with rye (usually Templeton) and amaro nonnino that is warming and with a lil bit of brightness for a dreary day. I’ve also been getting into afternoon dirty martinis because of the savoriness
Blood and Sand - though it’s four ingredients: equal parts scotch (nothing fancy), sweet vermouth, Cherry Heering, and blood orange juice (regular works too.) Shake over ice and serve up with a fancy cherry or orange zest.

This got me through the first full covid winter 2020-2021
And I feel I should clarify my earlier post...I put the syrup leftovers on oatmeal. Not the cocktail leftovers 😂
It’s been a rough few years
Tea + lemon juice + honey + rhum
- A mug.
If you count the oxygen you should consume by breathing between sips, ai think you have it.
Hot Toddy.
You can use Bourbon, doesn't need to be Rye
The vermouth is pretty close to mulled wine. You can even mull the vermouth.
