And then returns. My snow crocuses here in St. Louis came up a couple of weeks ago when it was 76 degrees, then were killed the next day by a sudden cold snap. :(
Fact is, nothing is as it was, weather is off the charts, unpredictable, snow in Florida, 9" in Virginia. This will get worse since the only chance to limit climate change went out the window with the 47th president. Winter, or summer, may one day not end. I cope by facing worst case scenario.
And now it leads to spring where life rises in beauty & the drama that only it can bring. Everywhere miracles are happening. Life is reborne again, multiplying the species and perpetuating the struggles of new life. We all seemingly rush towards summer.
I love winter, I never want it to end. The plums are blooming and it’s going to be 70 degrees this week and I’m so angry I cried. Yes I realize the irony since I’m a professional gardener but winter makes me feel calm and free. Spring/summer make me livid.
Having lived in Scotland for the first 35 years of my life, I can assure you, you wouldn't. It's not lovely warm misty rain. It's cold, wet and miserable and it chills you to the bone.

NB I am less sure we’ll live to see it though… 🤷🏻♂️
Not in the Hudson Valley!
I have snowdrops, myself.

In March 2020, David Hockney cheered everyone with a delightful painting of daffodils titled “Do remember they can’t cancel the spring”
Beautiful flowers!!
Love the color 😺
Thank you....
I spent more for snow plowing this February than I did for the last couple winters!
I wasn't expecting that & glad I had enough money left in the budget!
Looks like a lot of toadstools to me.
Winter is too short. Need more rain

I hate warm or hot weather. I hate being in the sun.
