seeing people on twitter saying they might ditch meat because of bird flu/lowered standards of food safety due to politics. i have been eating like 99% vegan for like four years and i think it's a great idea!

I point everyone to this video. The broccoli soup at the end is a game changer. I only reduce, not eliminate, my meat intake, but there's a wide, wide world out there for people to explore. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGKJAgLF78c
I realize my name on this platform is misleading at times, but yeah, he really knows what he's doing. As a bonus I think most if not all of his books also come with playlists
I’ve been vegetarian (not vegan) since Sept 2022. still gotta have some cheese every now and again, it’s just too delicious. I actually can catch a buzz off cheese lol

Although he does say that he's not vegan, all of the content on his channel is.
The sheer rage I have knowing that this current bird flu situation couldn’t have happened w out the meat and dairy industry…If I can find a way to make it work w my body’s weird needs I’m so ready to be done
that recent investigative article on grubstreet about deli meat really got to me, i quit the cold turkey cold turkey, and that was one of the few non-veg things i ate regularly. feel this for sure.
Unfortunately those lowered standards will be coming for the whole food supply, especially stuff aggressively marketed as organic. Not saying going vegetarian or vegan isn't worth doing, I just doubt it will be protective in this specific sense.
I’ve been vegetarian most of my life but there have been so many E. coli outbreaks related to produce - don’t get too excited. Being vegetarian is great for many other reasons though.
the only meat i eat is occasional fish and i feel so good now. until u stop u never realise how much your rely on meat to hold up your diet and how much it holds u back... u gotta mix up the proteins, irons, and fats!!!
I grew up on meat n potatoes; didn't have any "ethnic" food aside from TexMex until I met my wife. Now I'm like 99% vegetarian and LOVE IT; I i have a genetic weakness for delicious meats in tube form, although the Beyond/etc brats are very tasty.
Honestly feeling like I should be on the same boat. Figures that it takes a shitty shift to do so before I get to go for my original plan that would’ve nudged me in that direction.

I only really remember recalls affecting lettuce, but I’m probably forgetting other non-meat recalls

Still love cheese though. :(
I didn't do know they made beyond sausage though, maybe I'll give that a try.
