if I want a full album it's in rainbows, tbh. weird fishes imprinted onto me very hard
i don't have the playlist anymore that I used to use since I stopped using spotify, but I know the last two things I added were chappell's California and billie's The Greatest
i do have to go give billie eilish's albums an actual long sit down and listen one of these days. i never, like, wrote her off but I never had the push to go on an album dive but also everything I've heard singlewise recently has impressed me
followup: i should've been listening to hit me hard and soft since it dropped and I'm genuinely surprised at her range? she's got a hell of a career ahead of her, especially if she wants to drop an album of stuff like Chihiro in the future
Coco's soundtrack. Guaranteed waterworks for me. I dunno if it's the musician's dream theme, the stellar writing of characters, music and lyrics, or if it's something more universal, maybe all of this combined. A few bars are usually enough too. Masterpiece.
Bill Callahan's Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle and basically his whole catalog when he went by Smog were filled with beautifully heartbreaking stuff. Then he had to go get married and have a kid and his stuff just hasnt been the same since haha
If I had to pick an album it's probably (What's the Story?) Morning Glory by Oasis but I think the singular piece of music that hits me harder than any other is Into Dust by Mazzy Star. https://youtu.be/Ep50EOiicJ8
You ever see the sketch on Chappelle’s Show where John Mayer plays electric guitar and the white people involuntarily start dancing to it? Nostalgia is probably part of it but there’s also just something about distorted guitars that hits me in the feels.
They’ve successfully reunited and are better than ever now, but this album still destroys me by the end. Definitely due to when I discovered them in college and what I was going through at the time, but it’s definitely happy tears even now.

But it depends on what's bugging me
A Few Small Repairs (Shawn Colvin)
Once Upon Another Time (Sara Bareilles)
It’s such a brutally personal, emotional album that hits hard
when we saw ILLINOISE at the armory and the opening bars of Chicago hit i started sobbing and didn’t stop until the song was over
This one ends up being an inadvertent endurance test to see how long I can hold it together without bawling.

Just one piece.
Telos! Sealed you into your ice tombs! Voga! Canary Wharf! Planet 14! Every single time, you lose. Even on the Moon.
{S}even thousand years into the future.
Two billion years into the future.
That's a hell of a bird.
Laugh hard. Run fast. Be kind.
IN THE GREAT BEEEEEEELOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
