Thomas can get quite fluffy when it's approaching time for his next shave. His ruff at this stage illustrates how impressive it was when he was allowed to have fur.

(For the curious: Thomas doesn't get fur anymore because he can't be trusted with it. He overgrooms and swallows his own hair until he develops intestinal blockages. He's almost fifteen. He won't survive another surgery. So he gets shaved and clothed.)
Thomas has an extensive wardrobe, much of it made for him by friends of mine who are also talented tailors. He actively likes his clothing. It makes him feel fancy, and people fuss over him enough to satisfy his insatiable need for love.
He participates in choosing what he's going to wear, sometimes by bringing me his preferred shirt, other times by pawing at the one he wants. He doesn't care about color, but has fit and fabric preferences.
His favorite is a shimmery pink-blue fabric that we call his ABBA dress/Eurovision outfit. I sing him Waterloo every time he wears it, and that makes him SO happy.
Even if I have had to learn to recognize when he's demanding attention by noticing the long pauses as you attempt to breathe under his crushing weight lmao
I love that people make clothes for him. Toddler and cat/dog clothing fits a bit differently on the four-legged ones and I want him to be the most comfortable he can be.
While his grey sweater is very fetching, both the ruff and the stance have me itching to pull some brocade out of my stash. He’s definitely serving Elizabethan court dress here.
This is an author photo quality outfit. I love it. He looks like he has Opinions and he must share them. But also WOW does this really show how much of him is fluff vs how much is cat.
With a shirt that's printed in something tweed (and otherwise a fabric he likes) with elbow patches, he'd fit right into the academic directory photos for the Philosophy Department at most private universities...
I betcha his office hours are more accessible, too!

Shared photo with DH, who wants to know if Thomas has ... a tuxedo?
Anyway, he’s looking do handsome and healthy!
I had to break it to her that the oldest Gen Alpha is 15 this year.
So glad I saw this. Handsome boy is clearly happy with his clothes.
We have an exovergroomer who used to strip her belly bare. Steroids helped a bit, but she just stopped after her treatment for hyperthyroidism. 🤷

I'm sorry you didn't read far enough to see that without his shirts, Thomas would quite literally be dead.
