Ooh. Maybe I'll combine that with a garden journal to track climate shifts -- I had one years ago, one of those 5 years on every page ones -- but I drifted away from it.

Do that and they'll collect handwriting and typewriter key profiles to always identify the source. The Nazis, Soviets, & Chinese did that, and that's their models.

This is such a wonderful idea. Purposeful. My daughter calls it data-dumping when I must tell her things of no consequence to anybody but me. This turns that on its head, as the next several years will be of great consequence. And private perspective will enhance or contradict the public narrative.

3x5 cards as notes and when you're done with a month of collected notes you put them in order for retrieval (your choice of system there) and draw a diagonal line down the card set in that month's color. Indexes their sorted order if you need to re-organize them later on. Pocket size / innocent

I've never come across a 5 year journal that leaves more than just a few lines per day/year. I tried one and it's not enough room for anything more than a cursory thought.

I'm trying one for the first time tho I've journaled since I was 12. Current plan is to maintain my "art/Tarot readings/general more expansive & indepth noodlings" in a separate journal & just use this as a top line 'what happened today' diary. I wish I'd thought to do it earlier.

I looked at so many options and went with the Hobonichi Techo. The right hand pages are blank so you would have more room if you wanted to expand beyond a few lines... It's hard to plan for 5 years so in the end I just held my breath and jumped! 😃

I repurposed an out-of-date daily planner for a multi-year diary. All I do is cross out the weekdays. It's a good alternative if someone isn't sure thru wanna spring for the cost right off.

Ok I’ve been thinking about this since you posted the idea. I have a blank book that I got at a conference in October, and I’m going to try my best to write in it every day. Tracking national and state events, with weekly tracking of cost of eggs, milk, and gas, and inflation yoy rates.
