Are the scriptures inspirations or their interpretation misogynistic? Is that the writers line of thought? Chauvinism.

#People, we should not be divided on whatever line is drawn cause they'll always come up with a new one every time that last thingy doesn't work anymore.
The poem is pretty accurate in the idea that almost all religions are biased toward, and reward men. There are no off-limits spaces or positions for men. All the heroes are men, all the Earthly prophets are men. Heck, barely any women are even NAMED in the bible.
I know and agree. all the more credit to Milton for that passage, deifying the Tree the serpent is praying to as a both female and utterly rational, "Mother of Science"..
credit to the back cover of Ummagumma by Pink Floyd for getting us there ;)
The Bible is full of metaphors. My theory is that the story is about something other than eating an apple. The forbidden fruit didn't hang from a tree. It hung between Adam's legs, and that's the serpent that tempted eve.
I'm sick of people blaming only Eve for the apple. In the Old Testament, both Adam and Eve were guilty and despite God's disappointment and banishment, He still loved them and watched over their descendants. The story doesn't end with Eve dooming humanity.
You can't really call it a grudge if it's the truth. Every human being sins. Even if you don't believe in God, you still get angry, greedy, envious, etc. We live in a world of corruption and you can't deny it. Humans don't have righteousness anymore. Jesus is here to help us get it back.
There are many stories that suggest Lilith was Adam's first wife. When she refused to return to him, God punished her and gave Adam eve. Yeah, Adam was probably boring. Two women were unhappy with him...?
God tells the first lie in the bible. If you have any shred of media literacy and aren't COMPLETELY closed off, it's very very clear that god is the villain. Why exactly did god not want Adam and Eve to know the difference between good and evil?
Agreed. I am not religious, but I am Bible literate and can see how it was written with an agenda of controlling people. Esp women and slaves and peasants.
What did she do wrong? She became aware of things that were right or wrong of the those in charge. As a servant you aren’t supposed to acknowledge the sins of the ruling class
They were basically newborns & he put a marshmallow on the table, told them not to eat it & punished them for eating it
No, they were adults who had no idea why it was wrong not to eat it, lied about what would happen if they did, and then punished all of humanity for what two people did. God is the villain
The Immortality Key by Brian Muraresku makes a powerful case that the early Christians used a psychedelic sacrament that was a continuation of the Eleusinian Mysteries.
Yes, many do.
The Bible was translated (or adapted, if you will), not rewritten.
I agree on the point it was mistranslated. That's one of the reasons why the Great Schism happened.
There was no biblical Adam and Eve or a forbidden apple. There were just a bunch of men who wrote stories they only taught each other to read and they always made themselves the heros and women the villains.
“Crazy how the very first sin was a woman who ate
A woman who ate
She served and licked the plate
Crazy how the very first sin was a woman who ate
She chose her fate
And she said no to heaven's gate
She's mother and mother fucking ate”
I’m blown away by some of the folks in these comments… this is a sad world we currently live in.
And while also a big proponent of feminism, women’s equality, etc; this poem, or the idea behind it, is largely incorrect.
Also, God told Adam not to eat the forbidden fruit, he did NOT tell Eve. Adam was such a weakling that when Eve suggested eating the fruit, he did it. And then he threw Eve under the bus, telling God that it was Eve's fault. This whole misogynistic thing is bullshit.
That's just it. Adam did pick the apple and then blamed it on Eve when they got caught. Thus why till this day men blame women for their negative actions. It's almost like men hate women.
Sacrilegious, if not also hypocrisy. Do you insist the Garden of Eden is real, and things would have turned out differently if Adam first bit the apple? (They both did, FYI) Or do you deny the existence of God while using his biblical stories to complain about how much his creation sucks?

😎📣🍄
the "three Middle Eastern religions" have been invented/completely co-opted by men, yes
In order to force monogamy on women who until then were the only ones who knew who their kids were 😳🤗😎
until then women may have had multiple partners and men had no idea who their kids were, only women knew
if "God" loved us as much as penguins, we'd be hardwired-monogamous like they are 😅

Of course, it's all made up anyway.
"Eve was framed"
10/10
And an apple fritter the size of my head 🤤
Eve was a victim, not a villain.
Among which includes one story about how a demon cursed Nebuchadnezzar’s daughter with farting a thousand times a day
Lilith was intended as a ‘women, am I right’ style of comedy
They were basically newborns & he put a marshmallow on the table, told them not to eat it & punished them for eating it
Great plan, hon. Stereotyping is okay when you do it, I guess. 👍
How come none of the other animals messed with it?
It’s been mistranslated and re-written so many damn times.
