Let’s re-up this argument: Seeking asylum is not illegal. You are allowed to enter the U.S. anywhere with or without documentation, and at a port of entry or not, and request asylum.
Furthermore, asylum-seekers MUST be within our physical land borders to do so. Embassies and consulates don’t count.

So, it is very, Very true.
I know anti-corruption laws were not made to protect corruption.
Enforcement can be a bunch of clowns on meth, that doesn't define law
It doesn't surprise me at all that not many Americans understand how seeking asylum works.
The president is constitutionally obligated to enforce lawful court decisions.

This is all per the Refugee Act of 1980.
An embassy is soil of the country it represents! The guest-country has no jurisdiction at the grounds of an embassy, it's the jurisdiction of the country represented!
That’s why we are where we are
I'm 100% for LEGAL immigration, for anyone.
Asylum - fleeing horrible situations (like the pilgrim fathers, Huguenots, Amish or South Vietnamese.
Immigration - Scottish, Italians, Greeks, Mexicans, Brazilians.
Fixed if for ya, traitor 😉
Although, in all seriousness, we’re pretty safe here, all things considered. Even my friends who are waiting for their asylum hearing feel safer here than in Venezuela, which is pretty telling about the situation there 😔
I fear it could become unsafe here, for instance, for trans people faced with cold-turkey detransition. Or for someone seeking to end a dangerous pregnancy. We're not there yet, but you can see it from here.
The problems they face include: overly restrictive definition of “refugee” for asylum purpose; high bar of proof required; difficulty obtaining corroborating evidence; detention making it much harder to help prepare the case; not enough lawyers
RightWing Gobshites like Farage and his Reform wankers have vilified asylum seekers to the point where nazi grannies are calling for lifeboats to be "shot at" while crossing the channel.
The hate for war torn refugees, is breathtaking.
Couldn't find verification, but believe one can seek asylum if you've entered an overseas US embassy/consulate.
You are either an idiot, or you know the truth and are okay with the government killing people for no reason.
When I ask for proof and I get gaslighting, I know I'm not dealing with a trustworthy person.
Honestly, embassies and consulates SHOULD count for every country. Not every person who needs asylum is able to afford the cost of travel, nor healthy enough to cross thousands and thousands of kilometres on the uncertain chance of “maybe.”
If it is feasible for you to help, you SHOULD.
They've made themselves believe the the framers of the Constitution intended it to only apply to citizens.
