When did you become a Star Wars fan and who is your favorite character?

I became a fan in 1984 when I was introduced to Empire Strikes Back by my father and fell in love straight away. My favorite character in the franchise is Darth Vader.

Probably same yr although difficult to exactly pin it down.
It was the stormtroopers that did it for me. Always wanted to be one when I was a kid.

It was either 1996 or 1997, it was definitely before the special editions came out. I was a toddler watching Return of the Jedi at that time.
As for favorite character, it would honestly have to be Ahsoka. It’s hard not to love her given how long we’ve known her for. Plus Ashley Eckstein is a gem!

Darth Vader scared me to death until after he took off the mask. Then, I just wanted to know how things got that way.

For the next few years, Star Wars movies were all i watched aside from cartoons.

I was a fan as a kid when I saw Return of the Jedi in the theater in 1983. Became a HUGE fan once I met my husband. We’ve been through the prequels, sequels, animation, Disney+ shows, etc. and we now have our daughter in the fold. Fave characters: Chewie, Jyn Erso and Darth Vader.

I've been a fan since I was little more than a toddler, watching the movie in the theaters on its original release. I got the toys, including a Millennium Falcon and Darth Vader Tie, cards, sheets, all of it. To this day it's the closest thing I have to a religion. Favorite character is R2.

Revenge of the Sith came out when I was 10 and it was all my friends would talk about. So I rented all the Star Wars movies from blockbuster one at a time until I saw all 6 (at the time). Favorite character is probably Anakin/Vader

My dad introduced me and my brothers to the Original Trilogy growing up and I grew up as the Prequels were coming out. Revenge of the Sith was my first SW movie in theaters!

I became a casual fan around the early 2000s when I checked out the PT. I became a die hard fan when the ST was announced and we had our first look at TFA.

Thats when I dived down the Star Wars rabbit hole and started to injest everything Star Wars. Favourite character is my man Obiwan Kenobi!

When I saw the teaser trailer in autumn 1976, I knew the movie would speak to my disposition. I told my mother that I wanted the whole family to see it. When May 1977 came around, i managed to get 5 out of the 6 of us in the cinema together. 🌌

I saw RoTJ in an overcrowded theatre in 84 (small town, new releases were slow to come). I was enthralled. My favourite characters were the droids. I ended up building an R2-D2 replica. Seeing TFA with my kids was magical.

1977 before the movie came out in the U.K. it was covered repeatedly in 2000A.D. comic. I was so hyped up to see it and it was magical when the opening crawl came up. R2D2 was and always will be my favourite character.

1995. A friend of mine said he was getting the VHS box set for Christmas, and I decided to ask for it too.

The movies were mind blowing, but the interviews with George Lucas and Leonard Maltin were what really sparked my love and imagination.

I cannot remember the first time I saw Star Wars, my dad took me and my brother to a drive in theater when I was 1 year old. My favorite character when I was young was Luke Skywalker. As an adult I really like Ahsoka Tano. She is fearless and I love her fighting style.

My dad showed me the first when the original trilogy was re-released in 1996. I saw them in order and became obsessed. I collected every action figure at the time.. My favorite character back then was Luke, nowadays I would say Tech. It changes often 🤣

My dad picked my brother and I up early from daycare and surprised us by going to the theater. So crowded at a 4 pm showing in my small town that I sat by myself (11 yo). Walked out to see my first ever line around a cinema. Was absolutely amazed.

My dad got the original trilogy VHS remasters and we watched them over the weekend. It was then I started noticing the connections. But it wasn't until the prequels when I became obsessed with SW and the world building. Sadly I missed out on the special editions in theaters 😭

I’m an “original” fan. I was 11 when I first saw SW in 1978 in my small town California second-run movie theater. Fell in love with it and Han Solo. In 1977, my mom won us tickets from a radio station to see the New Orleans symphony play SW music in the Superdome. Characters in costume afterward.

Somehow, unsure how, my dad had a small reel version of new hope that I saw before empire released in theaters. Saw esb in theaters when I was 5 and it was my childhood… hoth every winter. Introduced my kids to it thru movies and clone wars series. They love prequels like I love orig.

Early 90s. As a literal infant. Star Wars exposure was so constant I couldn't even begin to pinpoint any single moment as the one I "became" a fan. Probably easier to just say I was born one.
