NYC really used to be a horror with all kinds of muggings,theft, human shit & piss in places it shouldn't be.. like, in the 70s & early 80s. But it's SO FRIGGIN SAFE now;I just went yesterday w/my kid,we walked, like 8 miles all through the city. The delusion of a hellscape crime wave is bizarre.

Egg prices are a particularly fraught thing to compare Canada vs US for complex reasons, but as a point of comparison, a dozen large grade A eggs costs $2.75 USD ($3.93 CAD) in my local store near Ottawa today, which is in their usual price range. (Please do not invade us for our eggs.)
