That is not a good use of public funds.

The select individual decides its time to have a serious lecture about all the nuances and implications of using various types of headphone, microphone and many other wireless technologies and make the idiot understand what kind of impact and distress their thoughtlessness has created.

One of those select individuals is incensed by the stupidity, and is angry that whomever it was didn’t think or ask questions about the advantages, especially since they themselves use bluetooth because they destroyed more than a dozen corded headphones in accidents and don’t want to destroy more.

It doesn’t matter what your political affiliation is, or your background or anything else. If you’re in need you can ask for help, and good people, people who are not greedy or selfish, will give that help.

Many good government programs are designed to be a safety net, to catch them before they fall into permanent disability or death. They are designed to give people a chance to regroup, recover and begin contributing again. They are meant for everyone, no matter who they are.

That’s exactly what the CREB is meant for, what it was created for; to help those who were in need, keep them housed, fed and clean in a distressing time.
It’s what a lot of programs of that type are meant for.

He told my spouse “if it had not been for the CREB, I would have been homeless. Even though I would not have voted for it under ordinary circumstances, I was thankful the benefit existed, because it saved me, helped keep a roof over my head”

…except he was in a bad financial position at the time the pandemic hit. He didn’t have the savings to make it through, and he didn’t have the employment or the work contracts. He was also going through a lot of severe medical issues and other relationship troubles.

So during the pandemic, we had this financial assistance benefit called the CREB. It was somewhat controversial, with conservatives not being in favour of it. This guy was not much different, except…

Exactly. France’s people know how to stand up for themselves. We in the English speaking world should embrace their example, and that of Gandhi and similar historical figures.

There’s already Buy Canadian apps which are similar. Don’t think it would take much to adapt one for your purposes. Just find a developer to be a partner and work together.

This is true. But what is your proposal to deal with the situation?
See i got nothing other than making sure it goes back to the indigenous peoples somehow.

This is along the lines of the nightmare posts, like the Love, Death and Robots type content. It’s supposed to make the watcher or reader think twice before using any digital media, for anything,

…the prediction of world wars, harm done to others, the future ostracism of a person, the loss of their dignity, respect, relationships, home, or even their life. Even if you like the person, you must destroy everything just because they recorded it, even of they deleted it or were mentally ill.

And oh boy, does that monopoly need to be busted up. My experience has been that innovation is more active if there’s actually a choice and people can shop around if they are unhappy with the product or service.

It takes time to work through all the court challenges and decisions. It would go faster if there was more people working on them. Cuts to services have done a number on processing court cases. It would be better if there was more streamlining and more staff.

If there’s one thing I learned from Korean literature, just because its a demon doesn’t mean it’s evil, just like you can’t assume an angel is always good.

Yeah, bats are an incubator for all sorts of things. I think I remember that their immune system is a bit weaker than most mammals because they have to devote more energy for flying. I’m foggy on details but here is a link

Stupid, stupid, stupid. If Trump hadn’t made China his enemy last time he was in power, he wouldn’t have to do this. But he went and shot himself and Musk in the feet.
China would probably be a better negotiator in this situation. Heck, they even have their own project.

Maybe we should make a few movies about it then. We have our own industry.

I thought Obama easing of sanctions was a smart move years ago. It was stupid it got rescinded. I wish that could be restored and resolved.

Maybe be less obvious about it.
Personally I wouldn’t have wanted to destroy the US from within. As much as they have pestered and annoyed us before the election, it’s way easier to have mutual cooperation. Afterwards… ugh, this is terrible.

Sure, as long as they had some awareness of what they were doing. Sometimes people don’t actually know what effect or reach they have.
Still, they do need to take some responsibility.

As long as they properly secure the communication equipment, and don’t software updates over-the-air.
