@randahl Honestly, I had my doubts about how much this would even phase this nutjob... It's nice to see it's bothering him.

@rasterweb Clearly Spotify doesn't support Tate though based on this news? No?

@rasterweb Many good reasons to not use spotify... But how exactly is REMOVING this kind of content one of them?

@jdbar @protonprivacy Agree with what you're saying but its a minor QoL addition that costs them nothing to offer. I think they should do both this and a privacy focused option, sure. But this is just an option, for the largest video calling platform around... it doesn't amount to […]

@jdbar @protonprivacy I think the need to strike a balance between those ideals and being useful to as many users as possible. But point taken

@quaff @protonprivacy Every day I think it's clearer that Bluesky will win out of Masto vs BS. And it's not for of any technical reasons that make Blyesky inferior, as many Mastodon evangelists like to keep pointing out. It's because Mastodon evangalists can't stop fucking point things out […]

@quaff @protonprivacy Yeah that's the other factor... Mastodon is a relatively small audience, and broadly speaking, it has a fairly narrow ideological base. Proton might come back one day, but I don't blame them for stepping back. I feel genuinely bad for their social media team, which has […]

@jdbar @protonprivacy Because Zoom is undoubtedly one the most popular video conferencing services in the world. This is a simple "How-To" guide... you think this honestly amounts to renunciation?

@quaff @protonprivacy Yes... most vocal is correct. Go have a look at the replies to any of their recent posts... Being vocal doesn't equate to valuable though. Mastodon's outrage machine has turned them off the community and I'm not surprised they have no interest engaging with it anymore.

@ecosdelfuturo This medium post is almost a month old... and it relates to an issue that's almost 3 months old at this point. If you are posting about "Leaving Proton" today, you are a fucking sheep. "Corporate Democrats sold out and don't want to tackle Big Tech" is the crux of his opinion […]

@ai6yr Immediately thought this was a map of some gerrymandered congressional district.

@davidaugust This makes me uncomfortable to look at, and I'm not 100% why? Feels like it's going to wrap me up in my sleep.

@lackattack I guess I'm just not getting the same "He's clearly a Trump fan" from all of this... Broadly, I think Proton is an example of a "good" tech company in a landscape of absolutely enshitfied, surveillance-capitalist, billionaire run monoliths they are competing with. Not to say they […]

@lackattack Fair enough... I get that sense from many on-edge people at the moment. I'm partial to it myself quite often. I'm currently latching onto this Proton thing because I think it is pretty low-hanging fruit. I think Andy Yen's comments regarding Anti-Trust are actually spot on... and […]

@lackattack Well... I'm looking to discuss those different things to try and understand them... but I don't get the sense you want to do the same.

@lackattack I guess I can't bring myself to be annoyed by the political statement in the first place is the issue... archive.is/lBQd8

@lackattack Can you help me understand?

@lackattack Republicans have a better recent track record on Anti-Trust compared to Democrats. That's the history here. Republicans be bad, and dems be useless are not incompatible ideas. You shouldn't decide on email providers because of it.
